Thanks for the info dude. :-) But while I removed the spark plug it was completly dry. And I also checked that the smoke from exhaust was invisible. So engine oil is not mixing. Correct???

Check the photos you have posted.Originally posted by Sushil1991 View PostThanks for the info dude. :-) But while I removed the spark plug it was completly dry. And I also checked that the smoke from exhaust was invisible. So engine oil is not mixing. Correct???
Your spark plug is dripping oil from threads.
It could happen in only two cases.
Either your engine is over filled with oil.
Your engine is burning it’s oil reservoir.
Considering your service history, overfilling case could be ruled out.
Smoke from the exhaust is in second stage. Also, you won’t notice it until the bike is burning more oil.

I have touched the spark plug theard and saw it very clearly and sure that it was very dry. So no oil is mixed. Thank u so much for the info dude. :-)Originally posted by kris123456 View PostCheck the photos you have posted.

Re: Engine vibration
its quite normal in cold weatherOriginally posted by vikas13 View PostSo my bike is done 5k KM's and 3 services with oil change. But now I feel my engine ideal is at 2k rpm when I switch it on and only settles at 1200 rpm after 30 seconds. Also I feel quite a lot of vibrations while riding.
What could be issue here? I'm using normal Suzuki motoul oil of service centre.
engine takes time to heat up and get up to a ideal rpm
vibrations would be there until the engine warms up and would eventually reduce after 3-4 kms

Owner's manual page 6-34 (unless your manual is different than mine, section: Inspection and maintenance, sub-section: drive chain)Originally posted by RookieRider1907 View PostHello everyone! I've just bought my Gixxer SF and the chain seems to be a little loose. Can anyone please tell me what amount of free play in chain is permissible?
Congratulations on your new bike! Happy mile crunching

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Let me know if you put a different rear sprocket and what difference it made. I'm also interested in doing so.Originally posted by ravihpa View PostThinking of ordering a Disc Brake Lock for added security. Not the cheap crap but since budget is restricted, thinking of getting this...
Abus Solid Cast Metal Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock With 2 Keys (Black)
It's got good reviews. Is it worth it at Rs. 1200? Is there a better option? Will the price be cheaper locally?
Another good one I researched was...
Kryptonite Keeper 5s Black Chrome Disc Lock
Comes down to Rs. 2500 including shipping and customs, etc. I might not get this coz 2500 seems too costly but if it's worth it, then sure.
What do you guys think?
Also, is it worth installing the official skid plate in a Gixxer SF?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I only did the free services at SCV after whoch all the regular services are done by myself. Bcoz I had a bad experience with the service centre here at chennai and also find it difficult to allot time to go to scv for service. Also only I can do a better service to my bike than any other service guy.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostIts sad that you dint/dont follow the maintenance schedule. It says clearly in your owners manual to replace Spark Plug every 8000 kms and to inspect & clean it during every other service.
1. I replace engine oil (Shell advance semi synthetic) every 3000kms along with oil filter.
2. I clean (Kerosene) and lube (wonderfill lube) the chain whenever I feel the chain dirty or dry.
3. I change my air filter every 10000kms.
4. I have changed the chain sprocket set at 18000kms.
5. I have replaced the headlight bulb at 26000kms.
6. I waah my bike myself whenever i feel its dirty.
But i missed with the spark plug bcoz I did not have any impact on the performance or mileage so far.
And on my personal opinion I feel my bike and I are tied up by heart. Whenever my bike needs my help it tells me. :-)
So thats how I felt of changing the spark plug.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hav you checked the chain condition? Bcoz a dry chain will also result in rough ride experience in the bike also an old engine oil. But if the chain is well lubbed and engine oil is also good then there is something else :-)Originally posted by prasad g View Postcan any one please suggest me best mechanic in Hyderabad for gixxer. my bike engine is very harsh giving vibes and loud harsh sound like grinder when accelerating. bike over all body also vibrating due to this. i complained in service center but as usual no use with those idiots they give some silly explanations only

Appreciate your answers.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello! I had the same doubt but I don't think it really makes much of a difference as the engine of gixxer doesn't work on high compression ratio.Originally posted by White Fang View PostHello guys... Posting here and its been a while. I'm still reading this thread and currently on page 177
