Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
My bike has done 40500 so far. It's better to start using synthetic oil after 8000 kms. Use Motul. No need think twice. Just trust me and go for it.Originally posted by Harshit Dave View Post"If you want to be happy

12v fog lights for Gixxer
Hi,
Any suggestions for a pair of extra lights/ fog lights for gixxer SF ? The glare should be minimal.
Have the Cree U7 under consideration. Kindly share any experiences/reviews on this or any other lights of 12v (because of the 12v battery in gixxer).
Thanks !
Happy revving...

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Its not necessary to switch to FS oil, you can continue using SS or mineral.Originally posted by Harshit Dave View PostHow many kilometres have you done ? I read in many posts that one should switch to FS Oil after 10k kilometres. Is is true ? I still don't know which one would be better, Motul or Ecstar, that's why waiting for the Ecstar's reviews.
Theres no difference between Motul 7100 and ECSTAR R9000. However R9000 is cheaper than the 7100 even when 7100 is on sale on Amazon.
The only problem is, for some reason Motul 7100 is not "recognized" as a recommended oil for the GSX150. So in case, your engine breaks down and on investigation if they find out you were using 7100, they might Nullify your warranty, even if the cause of the breakdown was not the Oil.
But simple common sense and logic would dictate that SMIPL will not be able to hold the Oil responsible because it doesnt mention anywhere on the Website or the Owner's manual that Motul 7100 is not recommended for teh GSX150.
So it comes down to personal preference, you can go with Motul 7100 if you want or save about 200INR and go with ECSTAR R9000

The clip ons require a change of fork bolts. Can anyone help me procure a couple of fork bolts or recommend a lathing shop in Bangalore?Last edited by MotoBlizzard; 12-15-2017, 02:27 PM.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

With all the superbikes and all the vanity in Bangalore, the city misses on the fun aspect of motorcycling and unfortunately that's a shame indeed. Fret not! The nearest track is just 400 KMS away, in Coimbatore, the KARI MOTOR SPEEDWAY. Lots of KA, MH, TN, KL, TS guys all come here purely for this.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Guys, is there a way to get price of FI ABS from official Suzuki sources (like official e-mail or talking with official suzuki people)? The official Suzuki showroom people are assholes and are quoting exorbitant prices.
Back when I was looking for naked version prices (dual disc), the ****ers quoted me 97k and after I visited local multi-brand dealers, they quoted me 87.5k (dual disc variant). After I went back to showroom with this info, then they quoted 92k + paytm offer.
This time around, I wanna get proper pricing for FI ABS but don't trust those aholes at showroom.
If I can get good pricing from credible sources to begin with, then I can go there armed with it and save me a lot of time and hassle.Last edited by ravihpa; 12-16-2017, 09:23 PM.| LG 24GM79G-B 144 Hz Full HD Monitor | Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3.10 Ghz | ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 | Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! Engine vibration
So my bike is done 5k KM's and 3 services with oil change. But now I feel my engine ideal is at 2k rpm when I switch it on and only settles at 1200 rpm after 30 seconds. Also I feel quite a lot of vibrations while riding.
What could be issue here? I'm using normal Suzuki motoul oil of service centre.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Thinking of ordering a Disc Brake Lock for added security. Not the cheap crap but since budget is restricted, thinking of getting this...
Abus Solid Cast Metal Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock With 2 Keys (Black)
It's got good reviews. Is it worth it at Rs. 1200? Is there a better option? Will the price be cheaper locally?
Another good one I researched was...
Kryptonite Keeper 5s Black Chrome Disc Lock
Buy Kryptonite Keeper 5-S2 Disc Lock - Chrome: Alarms & Anti-Theft - Amazon.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases
Comes down to Rs. 2500 including shipping and customs, etc. I might not get this coz 2500 seems too costly but if it's worth it, then sure.
What do you guys think?
Also, is it worth installing the official skid plate in a Gixxer SF?| LG 24GM79G-B 144 Hz Full HD Monitor | Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3.10 Ghz | ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 | Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Done 26000 km in roughly 15 months. I would be replacing the chain set in another 5000km or so (my mechanic says it can't be tightened further).
So I thought I would try a different sprocket at the rear. Say 42 teeth from the r15 or 43 teeth from the cbz. I am eyeing an increase in top speed by about 10 kmph. Has anyone had success with this setup?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello fellow guys from India. I'm from Sri Lanka and this is my first post on xBhp. I came across this forum and thread while searching for Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS FI option. I wanted to see what are the Pros and Cons for the bike, any manufacture faults and possible maintenance tips.
I read about 30ish pages for now and all the proud owners have been extremely proud of the choice they made. I wanted to make sure i'm getting a bike which will worth my money and pleasure as well. I have a Bajaj Discover 135 2008 edition with me. It has been my companion for many life long memories. I'm resting my old gal and eyeing on a new beauty. Let's see how it goes.
I hope you guys will give me your full support to continue my journey with this new beauty and i will do the same from top of my knowledge. Aaah.. Almost forgot to tell you boys. I've booked my bike here in SL and they said RC and other documents will be done within 5-7 business days. I will post a pic for sure when i collect it from the head office svc.
PS: I'm following this forum due to lack of bikes available in here SL atm. well at least we're lack of SF fully faired edition. Haven't seen mine in roads so far.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
This is the beauty i'm going after. I'm sure this will attract loads of eyes.

I noticed the petrol tank is covered by some sort of plastic covers. Is this really plastic or any metal part? I didn't have the luxury to wait and find out what that is. Owners, please tell me if that parts are plastic then is the paint going to fade away if it contacts long time with petrol? How is it looking under sun light?Last edited by White Fang; 12-21-2017, 04:20 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I have had this bike since last 16 months. Done 26000 km.
It has an awesome midrange, and great looks. It looks like a superbike from the front and sides( to regular folk). Great presence, especially in blue.
It can easily do 100 plus speeds all day- max, I have done is two trips of 550 km each.
Front brake has a good bite and feel. Rear is largely useless (unless used in conjunction with front/pillion). Efficiency= varies from 30 to 40 depending on the intensity of your ride. I routinely hit 90-100 kmph, and I get around 34kmpl.
The fairing is all plastic/fibre, and is of a good quality. No rattles till now.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
No cons except the ABS is intrusive and depending on the situation may or may not decrease the stopping distance in time to prevent an accident. Ofc it will prevent front wheel lock up but it wont prevent teh accident.Originally posted by White Fang View PostI wanted to see what are the Pros and Cons for the bike, any manufacture faults and possible maintenance tips.

"Some sort of plastic covers" Its called ABS Plastic, google it (and no its not Fiberglass as some people might tell you). Any petrol spill on the painted surface will immediately start corroding away the paint but very slowly and No, waxing the bike will not help. The paint on this bike is just pure BS. Its a single stage paint with no clear coat so dont worry about paint too much, you might need to get it repainted in the future anyways. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Yeah, I'm worried about petrol spills coz petrol pumpers are careless sometimes. I will keep a good microfiber cloth in between the instrument panel and short windshield protector to wipe away the excess fuel. Appreciate your time to reply my query. Cheers..!
