Stock MRF tyre should cost around ~3.2k.
The DR2 costs around 6k and it comes in 140/70 size.
Tyres with the 140/60 size are very rare.

The DR2 is stickier and has lesser life. It is also more puncture prone.

If you're happy with the stocks, I would advise you to stick to the stock tyres.
Thanks. I will stick to the stocks. I didn't notice DR2 not being available in stock sizes. The ~3.2k you mentioned if for the front or rear? I want to know the cost of both

The SVCs mostly recommend changing the Fuel Filter at every drain interval. Whereas the manual says the Fuel Filter should be changed every 8000 kms (Every alternate drain interval as per Suzuki it seems). Is it ok if I follow the manual? Its not that I want to save the 40 bucks by doing this. But I don't like wasting away things unnecessarily.

Oh I definitely have something interesting to say.

So this is basically going to be a PSA (Public Service Announcement):

Got my 6th Service done today. We currently have a MegaCamp by Suzuki for 11th and 12th. All services are free except consumable including Engine Oil.

Coming to ENgine oil. ECSTAR R9000 Fully Synthetic oil has officially been Launched in Hyderabad for an MSRP of 599. Naturally I got it filled up!
Since its Suzuki's in-house oil, its recommended for the Gixxer. Pics Below.

Rode for about 50kms, not a massive difference compared to the previous SS Idemitsu oil but the Gear shifts have become slightly smoother. Still its too early to say anything. Will ride more and see how it performs.

Oil change interval is 6-7000kms as confirmed by a Japanese representative from Suzuki.
@icarious this brings to your question, you can definitely get your filter changed as per the manual. This R9000 oil change interval makes the deal even more sweeter. You can change both the oil and filter at every 2nd service.

To answer your question in its original form, the principle is not so much about unnecessary wasting of material/product but its got to do more with maintaining the engine in its prime condition. In long term you can get a couple of 1000kms extra from your engine before its time to sell it or crush it. Atleast thats what certain perfectionists believe. This strategy is very useful if you have a rare bike or a limited edition bike say for example the Husqvurna Nuda 900R that Royal Jordanian rides.

      Another PSA:

ALso got Nitrogen filled in my tyres from a Machine that is specifically designed for this. Below are images of the machine. Unless you are filling Nitrogen from a similar looking machine, then chances are you are not getting nitrogen filled in your tyres.

Thanks for your PSA and the clarification on the Fuel Filter issue. Yes, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to replace the Fuel Filter if it does actually benefit engine life as it is with the Engine Oil Type. Its just that I like minimalism -- so it wasn't about affordability but seeking logic. Just wanted some clarification on replacing the fuel filter at the time of 4000 kms oil drain interval vs Owner's Manual recommendation of doing it at 8000 kms.

Coming to the topic of Nitrogen. At first I did buy into this (Fill Nitrogen) crap and tried it once as the bunker near my place fills Nitrogen for gratis using a similar machine as in your picture. But then I started thinking and found the issue highly debatable, a total myth and an absolute nonsensical and unscientific hoax (not including Aircraft tyres here).

Everyone puts Nitrogen in tyres. That's common science. Its just they put a 78% blend of Nitrogen .

So Coming to the first part of the argument :

By volume, regular air contains 78.09% of Nitrogen + 20.95% of Oxygen + 0.93% of Argon + 0.04% of Carbon Dioxide along with some small amounts of other gases -- High School Chemistry ?

Here comes the Second Part :

Do they first draw a vacuum in the tire to get all the O2 and other gases out? If not, I’m not really getting a Nitrogen fill up, am I? Deflating a tyre (irrespective of however fancy the machine is) and creating a vacuum are two very different things. They need to do the process inside a vacuum chamber otherwise you still have “air” in your tires, with a higher percentage of Nitrogen than the outside air, but it’s still not pure. To actually fill a tire with pure, dry nitrogen, one would have to first create a vacuum inside the tire, plain and simple.

        The Third Part :

Nitrogen like all gases is subjected to the phenomenon of expansion when heated unlike what the bunkers try to tell you -- bringing me back to the topic, its not really Nitrogen vs Oxygen here (where could compare the expandability of both these gasses) but Nitrogen vs Common Air (which is again dominated by Nitrogen itself ).

Its very unfortunate that a lot of websites, forums and most importantly Indian MotoVloggers (Vikas Rachamalla?) are spreading this unscientific error.

A man after my own mind on this issue (A must to watch video to recap some high school chemistry and fundamental logic) :

I have an Indian Oil station near my house with Free air filling. Just refill air every weekend. Simple.

Ofc the best time is to go in the morning when the tyres are cold.

My question is ,mostly all the reviwers mentioned about the gear shifts are butter smooth and suzuki had reworked on the gearbox.
So will this new reworked gearbox update come across all gixxer engines?
Any new gixxer sf testride or buyers please clarify on how is the gear shifts ? Is it clunky like gixxer sf or butter smooth like intruder 150 ?

Also I am confused now whether to buy sf or intruder.
I am sorry I cannot comment on that as I have not ridden the Intruder yet. I doubt anyone in this thread will be able to give you a First Impression let alone a review.

Now, its not exactly a new gearbox so to speak. Its actually the same gearbox with different gear ratios. Whether or not that makes a difference to the smoothness is yet to be seen by me.

No, the gixxers will not get the intruders gearbox because like I said, intruders gearbox has different gear ratios.

As far as Smoothness is concerned, its a subjective matter at this point of time. It really depends on what you define as smooth? You have 50% owners saying its smooth and 50% saying its not.

For me, its not smooth. Even using the best of shifting techniques I havent been able to get smooth shifts. For me I would define smoothness as Hot knife through butter but I am barely getting a sharp knife through steak smoothness.

I will be getting the TR for Intruder only around Tuesday or Wednesday at my dealership so I can provide you a review only during Next weekend.

            Till then stay tuned.

Exactly. I mean, if you get this so called "100% Pseudo-Nitrogen" at your bunker for Gratis its alright. Otherwise its a scam. The most hilarious of all I hear is the 'SUPERB HANDLING' and I was like ROFLMAO when I watched that video . I have heard from relatives who drive cars like the Ford Eco Sport who claim 'IMPROVED HANDLING OVER ROUGH ROADS' by filling nitrogen. Reminded me of those flying vehicles from Jetsons. Are you like drivin or flyin ?

And yes, I have that cold tyre OCD too.

Ya, coming to the Gixxer Family gearbox being hard. I have heard different opinions on this matter. As for my bike, I wouldn't call it 'butter' smooth like a Honda CB Unicorn 150. I would call the gearing of Gixxer as 'Sharp' if done properly at correct RPMs. I do a lot of clutchless upshifts these days so the experience has been 'pleasant'. The only 'teeny weeny' complain or irritation I have of the bike may be the overall feel of the clutch play <-> Gear Shifts. It feels a little I don't know, irritating may be while upshifting through a stop-n-go traffic? May be its just me feeling this given this is my first bike.
