Was to be completed today itself
Unfortunately a minor hiccup obstructed the setup to be completed
Tommorow will roll on clip ons

      Hi Team,

I bought gixxer sf in Aug 2016 as i am impressed with the pick up of this bike,
Show room person set the idle speed at 1500rpm, but after running for few km i observed engine heating issue, i know about heating issue in gixxer but to check if any thing wrong i went to show room guy and he reduced the idle time to 1200, but i observed much drop in pick up and engine heating issue is exist but i continued as i aware of this issue in gixxer. clocked 700+ and my first servicing is also done. but still my engine heating issue is there and engine also giving so much grunting noise after 4000 rpm.

I worried about this engine grunting noise, low pickup and heating.

can any one please suggest is it normal with gixxer? or any thing can be done to avoid the noise and improve the pick up.

Good work. But are you sure that both left and right clip ons are at the same angle? To my naked eye, in the photo it doesn't look so.

            Yes youre right
            Look closely
            Its not finalized
I haven't bolted it on the triple tree clamp yet
Just took her for a spin to get the feeling and finalize the position where they would fit so they don't collide with the fairing

                  Let it settle down
Maybe its due to a bad afr tuning
Idling should not effect your pickup if your bike is already running
After the run in period they will findle with the carb settings and then maybe your problem will get resolved

Thanks debargha. so you mean that as my bike is in run in period carb settings will be like that and after second service i they change settings again to improve pickup?

and also worried about this engine grunting noise may be some people like it but it feels like engine stressed to me

                      Its sounds grunty
Its the nature of the engine above 4k rpm
                      It feels like pushing it
                      Dont go with the sound
Go for the vibes in thighs and footpegs
If they are rattling below 7-8 k then tell the svc
If they are not that means they are perfectly fine
As per your afr tuning the svc will tell you that a certain km is required for the afr to be tuned
Just tell them its burning hot and giving you very low mileage
You can't bear so low of a mileage
So that they may check the tuning
They will retune your bike and the issue will be gone

                            Hello everyone,

I own a Suzuki Gixxer SF. It's one year old now and ran 14,000 kms. But i am facing issues with ground clearance right from the beginning. While riding with a pillion, the bike hits every humps, even a very small hump. I had to drive dead slow over the hump. It's hitting sometimes even without a pillion(if not slowing down in humps). I have told this every time while giving service. They have adjusted the shock-absorber but no huge difference.
Does every Gixxer SF owners facing this ? Any solutions ? Is it only in SF or in naked version also the same problem?

@admin, excuses if i posted in wrong thread. If the topic is already available, kindly get me there. Thanks

I was running on a softer setup for the last 5-6 months
Got it stiff a month back it fine now

See there's a road in Bangalore called pipeline road. Now this road was made in such a way that only 2 wheelers can go. Because, they have made a sort of heightened platform, and a small ramp made out of cement to the platform and while exiting it. So at a time only one 2 wheeler can enter/exit.
Now, I use that road daily. The cemented platform is easily knee-high, and the angle of the ramp is some 45 degrees. So you can see that when one exits the inclined ramp onto the platform, definitely if it's a low ground clearance bike the engine lower crash guard will hit/scrape.
I have seen almost touches in Pulsar's and Unicorns etc. Means, the front lower engine guard almost hits the platform.
Well, same case in my SF. I can easily glide over it like the other 2 wheelers. It never touches. Don't worry, Gixxer and SF have same 160mm ground clearance. So it doesn't matter which one you take. Maybe your attacking the hump too fast. Don't know.
                                The ramp is like this-

                                Entry-> /```\ ->Exit
