    Congratulations for the new ride

I am looking forward to buy one for my usage. Since you already have one I was wondering if you could be kind enough to answer few my queries:

    1. What is it like to travel on highway and open stretches?
    2. I have heard a lot about handling prowess but I would like to hear from users about the confidence or confusion in round turns and encountering traffic as well?
    3. Has anyone took this motorcycle to Himalayas? How well did it perform?
    4. How economical is this motorcycle in terms of maintenance?
    5. How is Suzuki service in terms of network and mechanics?

...Anyway, hows the bike and and how has been your experience with it on recent rides, especially during monsoon
The bike is serving me well
The only problem i am getting in the monsoons is the front tyre
For instance in traffic or in bad sandy gravely patches of road when riding in low speed when apply brake the tyre locks up and it skids
I let go of the brake instantly to let the wheel take a spin to avoid complete giving away of the bike
Thats the only concern i have with the bike

Thinking of changing the front tyres

Apart from this there is no problems
Using idemistu as of now as i feel this thing is better than motul (personal)
But it does retain the heat for a longer period of time where as the motul dissipated more promptly

Using a 60 w Bosch headlamp and a 1.5 amp hero horn with the stock to cope up with the bad lighting and sound of the stock set

My bikes idling is at 1.2 and when heats up it climbs up to 1.5k
I have used at 1 k and it stalled every time i halted
Maybe it has do to something with our differences in afr tuning as well

Last week on 8 th marked the 1st homecoming of my bike
Trying to celebrate the occasion with attaching a clip on using the r 15 method
Let's see how it goes maybe ill complete it in this month all together

As a more practical mod experimenting with a fellow xbhpian to attach the rear tyre hugger from the fz v2
To rectify the bad mud splush on the mono and pillions legs
Need a few mods as i have seen in the video on the forum

Sorry for the long post all

Hi Deb, were you having the wheel locking issues before too?
Tyres can't be worn out this early. Any one else facing the same issues?

Yes i have this problem from the start
In the rain of 2015 too i have faced the same problem
The tyre is NOT worn out
I have mistakenly wrote tyres in place of brakes
Maybe something to do with my BRAKES
You see my front brakes does not have a progressive bite
Either it gives a very deep bite or gives nothing at all
You can manage it while bike is in the move cause the momentum of the bike make it manageable
But while the bike is in low speed the brake makes the front wheels caught up
Maybe that is what is causing the problems

In what sense as sf is smooth like r15 , better average , low maintenance and costs 40k less so why its not a killer? (Genuinely asking the answer)

Guys has anyone tried any other brand of tires on Gixxer SF? I am mainly looking out for Pirelli Diablo Rosso II and Michelin Pilot Street Radials.

                        1. Comparing a track bike with a street bike - Never do that
                        2. Performance bike vs Premium Commute bike
                        3. Ultra-refined engine vs Not so refined engine
                        4. Butter smooth gearbox vs Clunky gearbox
                        5. Superior brakes vs Inferior brakes
                        6. Liquid cooled vs Air cooled

I havent seen anyone with a tankbag and saddlebags on the SF. So its better you visit a Biking gear store and try out their products in person.

Arent Pilot Streets shit tyres? As for Rosso IIs, you will get the front rubber but theres no 140/60 rear. Theres 140/70 but I would suggest you get expert advice before opting for that.

Otherwise stick with default MRF recommendation by Suzuki.

Pirellis would be a overkill for a gixxer
But its fine if you can bear the hole in the pocket
As for me i have seen Michelin's and they are completely fine to go with

Pilot streets are the good ones. Pilot sporty are the crap tyres.

Street Sporty are the shitty ones. I feel MRFs are prone to punctures.

Pilot street radials are good, pilot sporty are bad. But yes MRFs are sufficient and good too.
