Hi everyone, I was thinking about changing my mirrors on my sf. Is there any mirrors that we can use other than the stock mirrors?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Nope. There are no fairing mirrors that you can use on the SF because the bike has High handlebars and so any other fairing mirror will become useless. You can however use Handlebar mirrors as the bike has ports for installing them. It will look weird but you will get used to itOriginally posted by Simbad K Mohd View PostHi everyone, I was thinking about changing my mirrors on my sf. Whats the colour of the light throw ? And does it fit without removing dome ?Originally posted by ramanathanc View PostHey guys ! I just upgraded the headlight in my Gixxer SF to a Philips XtremeVision H4 and I gotta say I am seeing a 200% improvement in the light throw ! I'm sure that the stock light is just not sufficient for night riding.. It costs around 680 rupees in Amazon ! Interested people do upgrade your head light !
Do share some pics in night :-)

It's a 60W bulb ! An fellow gixxerian recommended this to me and he said that he is using it for past 6 months and has faced no issues ! I've also not faced any issues in the last 2 weeks..Originally posted by presidency View Post[MENTION=80266]ramanathanc[/MENTION] wattage of bulb? Is it safe for battery or electricals?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yeah it fits without removing the dome ! Local mechanic can just replace the bulb alone.. The color is whitish with a tinge of yellow ! Sure I will share some pictures very soon..Originally posted by SOMESH SHINDE View PostWhats the colour of the light throw ? And does it fit without removing dome ?

This is the said fellow gixxerian here [emoji1]. Maybe its 7 months now but the bulb is amazing and is still working perfectly on my SF. Your purchase will not go in vain, I can vouch for it..Originally posted by ramanathanc View PostIt's a 60W bulb ! Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
As far as I knew the gixxer has a smaller battery which can incorporate a 35w bulb, and using a 60w bulb will drain the battery faster than the recharging process.Originally posted by aquibmastan View PostThis is the said fellow gixxerian here [emoji1]. Can you shed some light on this context.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
That's excellent. But why can't we fit H4 LED which can produce even more light and less wattage? Any specific reason. I am looking forward to upgrade lights for my Gixxer.Originally posted by aquibmastan View PostThis is the said fellow gixxerian here [emoji1]. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Sure. Well, you're right, the battery will indeed drain a little faster but as long as you're using your bike regularly, you wouldn't notice the difference as the battery would keep recharging automatically. The stock bulb and the Philips X-tremeVision bulb that we're talking about are the same voltage (12V) so no danger of the bulb going out. The only considerable thing is the reflector. Higher wattage bulb means higher amount of heat that is generated, which could damage the reflector over a period of time; in theory at least.Originally posted by Arijit Dutta View PostAs far as I knew the gixxer has a smaller battery which can incorporate a 35w bulb, and using a 60w bulb will drain the battery faster than the recharging process.

In my personal opinion though, the difference between 35W and 65W is not high enough to generate enough heat that can damage the reflector. I have been using this bulb for 6-7 months now on my SF without any damage to the reflector or the battery. I work in night shifts so most of my commute and travel is at night; that should give some credibility to the bulb. [emoji1]
To be honest, I can't see a reason why we can't use an LED instead of a regular bulb. Also, headlamp LEDs are not available as easily as standard bulbs. If you have a link or something, please share. I'd myself love to try one out.Originally posted by gnan10 View PostThat's excellent. But why can't we fit H4 LED which can produce even more light and less wattage? Any specific reason. Yes, i have seen plenty of H4 LEDs on eBay and Amazon. But none has good reviews. I am really interested to try LED over high wattage Halogens.Originally posted by aquibmastan View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I have an LED headlamp. I got it from a local mechanic. At first I was having issues with its projection but it resolved after adjusting the beam and in the end its way better than stock lamps. Produce pure white light and uses the reflector precisely. You can view my earlier post about the same here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/showthread.php?p=1229680Originally posted by aquibmastan View PostSure.
