Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Got 3 issues fellas, need possible solutions for this
1. Recurring screeching sound from front disc
2. Burning smell from engine area (Bike have covered 3000kms so the smell is definitely not from paint)
3. Oil level reducing significantly although there is no smoke from Exhaust or any oil leaks
Question: What is the cost of a single indicator? For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

If your bike is new and pending 1st or 2nd service, then follow the user manual.Originally posted by prasad g View Postmay i know your gear change pattern i mean speeda and rpm at which you changing gears

Gear change is as usual gradual step up of 15-20 kmpl per gear change.. No harsh acceleration & riding.. :-)Originally posted by prasad g View Postmay i know your gear change pattern i mean speeda and rpm at which you changing gears

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Gear change is something that should come instinctively. No manual in the world is going to tell you when to change the gears. However until your first service you should keep the RPM below 4.5k and until second service keep it below 7.5k. Never run the engine at a constant RPM always keep varying it.Originally posted by prasad g View Postmy 2nd service is pending. done with first servicing. i change gears at 10km gap. bike feels little stressed. hoping for best after 2nd service.

P.S: What do you mean by "10km gap"?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Change gears w. r. t RPM and not speed. You maybe keeping the revs too low with this 10 kmph funda for efficient performance.Originally posted by prasad g View Posti mean i change gears at evry 10km

Change gears at 4-5k rpm not 10kmph speed increment.Originally posted by prasad g View Posti mean i change gears at evry 10km

You are driving a petrol bike not a diesel car which requires low rev upshifts

i read in other thread this should be the efficient way of shifting to get better mileage but if we try to change at 4k to 5k rpm isnt it too late?Originally posted by RohIIT View PostChange gears at 4-5k rpm not 10kmph speed increment.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Guys need your help ASAP! I am about to install K&N air filter in my GSF. I am confused between two models of their universal filter - RC 1060 or R 1100.
I have seen people using RC 1060 but need to know if R1100 will be perfect or not. Please help me choose the right one.
