    - Bad break-in results? Wanna elaborate on that?

    - The transition to more aggressive ergonomics will obviously be a well-thought over move, mate. I won't make the transition or the investment unless I'm ready to accept the consequences.

    - The R15 gives a better mileage? More often than not, I've heard otherwise. But then, there's the maintenance costs too. And I'd regret that 'bad break-in' catastrophe more on the R15, wouldn't I?

    - I probably forgot to mention 'economy' along with 'practicality' in the previous post. My bad.

I think the SF is decent for touring. Have seen many videos of ppl taking it for 300-400 kms a day runs.
Obviously it's not good if your planning to go from state to state where you have open highways with less traffic, where you need to ride at 130-140 to reach your destination faster.
For something like 500 kms a day, I think the SF's game. You can ride at 90-100 all day long, no issues. Anyways all this is from other reviewers and videos. I myself am waiting for running in period to get over before doing very long rides.

I have done five 500-700 km runs by now( roughly 2 months of ownership).
I needed a reliable bike for touring. So karizma, the bullets, and most cruisers were out of the race.
Gixxer can cruise for hours at 90-100 without much engine stress(speedo speeds).
            110plus with a stressed engine.
My agra trip was at 112-118 kmph for most of the stretch. The bike doesn't even give a hint of breaking down. The efficiency was about 35 at these speeds(50+in city otherwise).

The only better tourers maybe the honda cbrs, or kawasaki ninja- birth way beyond this price point.

( p.s. all figures are with a 60 kg pillion).

Even i thought of buying R15 or other high pickup bikes as i like smooth engine and high acceleration. but choose gixxer sf as its pickup is good but engine is very rough lik if it is getting stressed if u compare it with honda and yamaha, but its better in clickability im traffic

thanks for agreeing. i have seen in other thredabout engune roughness they mentioned it is due to bad lubing of chain and engine oil. is there any way to improve the smoothness of engine. i recently drove yamaha fz i felt its smooth, i cannot hear any engine riugh sound when other gixxers pass by. but i want it tool be smooth i posted regarding this many times in this thread but not much satisfied, i crossed 1250+ today but still same rough feeling

one more point is engine always starts at second start not for first.

Keep riding, do services on time, use recommended break-in, oil, lubes and dont rely fully on service centres. They dont service your bike deeply. I have a trusted and high skilled mechanic near my house and all of our group bikes ie, ktm, duke, gixxer, rtr, hornet etc....get serviced there and the result is just speachless. So have a trusted mechanic on the side. If anyone from barrackpore (kolkata), i cud recommend them.
