Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Have you done your first service? If not then maybe it is due to the "engine break-in", since the engine is new, it will create vibrations and noise. Once you reach a few more kilometers the vibs will reduce. I read this in the gixxer thread some days back.Originally posted by nisarg7798Does anyone feel the vibes near thighs, footpegs and handlebar? I feel that even on low speeds and there is screeching sound from disc brakes. Please tell me what to do?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yeah, do let us know. Yesterday I saw one Special Edition SF, looks very beautiful, with the matte and glossy combination. The owner had replaced the red seat cover with some grey laminated one. Looked monotonous, but actually better than red seat in my opinion.Originally posted by nisarg7798 View PostOkay thank you so much. I hope it reduces after first service.

So, I got a mileage of approximately 47.27 kmpl.
The distance covered comprised of around 380-400 kms highway and the balance was city traffic, almost half of which was B2B traffic.
I rode at an speeds ranging from 50 kmph to 65 kmph on the highway with short bursts upto 71kmph (5k RPM).
I've changed my shift pattern to that as specified by XeonGhos7, upshifting between 4.5-5k RPM and downshifting at 3-3.5k RPM (he specified 3k RPM as far as I remember).

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I'm a little confused as to when I'm to get my first service done, after 800 kms itself or by 950-1000 kms.
The manual says the revs are to be kept below 4.5k RPM for the first 800 kms and then below 6.5k RPM (or 6k, I'm a little unsure) for the next 800 kms.
Should I get the bike serviced before the next 800 kms of the run-in, or is it okay to wait until 1000 kms and give it a taste of short bursts upto 6.5k RPM for that 200 kms while maintaining a cruising speed of around 70kmph (5k RPM)?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Get it serviced as per the manual. Since the engine is new, it may generate some waste due to friction of new parts and this will be stored in you engine oil. Therefore changing of engine oil is essential for the first service and that too has to be done early.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostI'm a little confused as to when I'm to get my first service done, after 800 kms itself or by 950-1000 kms.
