One more thing is that I don't feel the required bite in rear disk break... Even the drum breaks of my friend's old fazer seems to work better...

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
This has been discussed innumerable times if you actually go through the previous posts. This move is deliberate by Suzuki to avoid the rear wheel from locking up and skidding (More chances in a disc brake than drum). The only 'bite' you would feel then is the bite of the doctorsOriginally posted by Vasanth Kumar Rangaswamy View PostOne more thing is that I don't feel the required bite in rear disk break... . The rear wheel is not meant to bring the motorcycle to a stop. It is meant to 'stabilise' the bike as you use the front brake dominantly. Do combine Front and Rear brakes along with Engine braking. Also learn the method of threshold and cadence braking.

My Man! I wanted to reply to him but I took a second to think it over and decided I was tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. Unless there are proper motorcycle schools and strict law enforcement, people are not gonna learn even the most basic riding skills.Originally posted by icarious View PostThis has been discussed innumerable times if you actually go through the previous posts. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi all,
I am planning to buy Gixxer SF. Done all my research and finally selected gixxer sf. Just confused with one thing.
Should I buy carburetor version or Fuel Injected.
Obviously FI is more advanced and everyone should go for it. But after reading a lot about these two I found out that FI is comparatively costlier to maintain. Can anyone please explain me the maintaining cost difference between these two and in worst case cost of replacing these units and should I really go for it, as I live in chennai so cold starts won't be a problem.
Thanks in advance...Last edited by utkarsh17; 06-20-2017, 10:29 AM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi All,
I bought Suzuki Gixxer SF (Blue Version) on Feb 2017 at Bangalore. I'm facing some problem in the bike. I just thought of posting my concern and try to understand the thoughts of owners of the bike.
My concern is regarding Bike Mileage.
Till 1st Service, Avg. Speed: 50Kmph. Kms Driven: 650. It seems to give 48kmpl (Mileage).
After the 1st Service, I took my bike for a long ride (End of March) starts from Bangalore - Coimbatore covers 850 Kms in 4 days. Avg. speed: 100kmph (Highway), 55kmph (City) I didn't worried about mileage after that till last month (May).
I have poured Shell petrol for Rupees 500: 6.25 litres while the petrol tank is on reserve mode (ride for 5 kms in reserve) and just thought of checking the mileage before going to the 2nd service due date is on 14th June. I reset the trip metre, FYI - my day to day commutation is exactly 20 kms (Avg. Speed: 40 - 50 Kmph). I just drove for 195 kms before turning it on reserve mode which means (32.5 Kmpl - Consider 6 litres). I'm not sure about the drop in mileage.
While I went for my 2nd service (kms driven: 3371), I asked the service guy about the average mileage of gixxer sf version and he assured me 40kmpl (min) and then I have complained about the mileage issue. They themselves agreed that it's low then he agreed to look into the issue. I got my bike in a day service. While getting back, I asked them to do the mileage test but they didn't and said that if you are facing any issue just come back again. Before giving bike to service it was on reserve, so I poured petrol for 200 rupees (2.77Ltrs) to check the mileage. It gives me around 95 kms (34kmpl).
So, I thought of sharing my concern and get the opinion from the fellow owners. I have read many popular reviews online & quora. Owners were saying that they are getting decent mileage more than 40kmpl (City).
Whether am I the only one facing this kind of issue? Or Someone else also faced this issue? If so, please let me know how you have rectified the issue.
Or Service guys are making the false statement. Sorry for drafting a big paragraph. Hope I can get some useful information from you guys.
Best Regards,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
EFI maintenance cost is higher than that of Carb simply because its more complex with more parts involved in its functioning. However the maintenance frequency is generally less as compared to that of Carb. Eitherway neither of these 2 go bad for a long time under normal operating conditions and in case of EFI--> an even LONGER time.Originally posted by utkarsh17 View PostHi all,

IF an EFI system fails then a replacement could be needed for either of the parts involved in it (Fuel pump, 6x sensors, Injectors, ECU). Again, let me emphasize--> IF
My advice: Get teh FI version. Dont think about it too much. Spend a little extra on the Extended Warranty. Have peace of mind for atleast 5 years. Even if something goes wrong, it will be covered under warranty. Just make sure you get your services done on time as per schedule
Do a full tank to full tank fuel mileage assessment. Reserve method is very crude and inaccurate.Originally posted by raja1402 View PostHi AllLast edited by MotoBlizzard; 06-20-2017, 02:33 PM.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi all,
What is the mileage difference in Gixxer SF and Gixxer SF-FI, considering same rider rides both with same style. Please provide figurative answer( not like, it depends on riding conditions, city, highway, riding style etc.).
Thank you.

I also encountered the exact same thing. Went to the SVC and they assured that it's normal. However, please check with the SVC.Originally posted by Sandi888 View PostHi all,
