Can you be specific about this?

1. If its the height, then thats not a Con, its a design element.
2. If its the hardness of the seat, I wouldnt consider it as a Con assuming your pillion would be riding with you for short trips. Besides with a little more expenditure you can have a custom seat padding made.
3. If its the seating area, then once against its a design element not a Con.

Once again, not a Con.

These are meant to be design cons. The pillion seat is high, hard and small. Also the pillion tends to slide onto the rider on mild braking. Overall I feel it's a "con". Hence I've just mentioned the pillion seat. I have added extra padding to the seats FYI.

I feel that the gixxer bottoms out more easily than the Hornet/FZ (this I've experienced). Once again, it is only my opinion that it is a con.

I've only posted what I felt were cons.

Another "con" I feel is the short front mudguard which sprays mud and water onto the engine and also the rider's pants. It's a design element, but once again, it's my opinion that it's a con. Then again the short mudguard design is followed a lot nowadays.

I've only posted what I felt were cons. You are free to post what you feel are the cons of the bike.

I figured you would give a very typical reply.

You cannot give a subjective opinion to an objective element and call it a Con just because you "feel" its wrong. It simply shows you are spreading false information.

Design con? Seriously? The GSX150 is a Sporty bike. Suzuki did not design the bike by taking into consideration ones Father, Mother, Sister or Oversized friends. If you want your pillion to be comfortable, get a Hayate or any other commuter like it. As simple as that.

Once again, dont make cons out of your feelings and present them as objective problems. It gives the wrong message to potential buyers.

P.S: According to your logic R15 V2 or any other sport or supersport bike has a "Design Con" because their pillion seat is high, hard and small. Also teh mudguards are perfectly fine. Your problem is that you think the GSX150 is a conventional commuter bike when infact its a Premium Commuter that draws subtle design cues from its elder sibling GSX-S1000/F.

Change your mindset about the bike. But hey, I do agree the headlight bulb that comes factory fitted is too weak. That is an objective problem.

Cheers

Well I don't like to argue, but I did expect such a reply.

I've read his question in the what bike? section and he has mentioned his apprehension for the small pillion seat. Just giving him a heads up. It is still a con in my books. In no way am I demeaning the bike.

The pillion seat is a con in many others' books. It is why the gixxer's sales aren't as high as that of the Hornet or FZ (apart from the less SVCs factor).

R15 v2 is another segment. It costs around 40k more than gixxer. Even then the fact is that Yamaha received complaints about the pillion seat and they responded with the R15s. If you consider the RC390/RC200, the pillion seat is quite generous. Even these bikes have a practical mudguard.

The Duke is also a "premium commuter". It too had short mudguards. It is not very practical here due to the dust and mud being everywhere. They gave a mudguard extension to the bike in an update. Suzuki can do something like that with the gixxer.

I'm not spreading false information here, people are genuinely concerned about the pillion seat and the mileage here, and that is the typical mindset here, so I give them the truth. Some don't mind (like me and you), for some it's a deal breaker.

The headlight is a con on most bikes here, just look at the hornet lol, the headlight is just horrible. I'll leave this here for the headlight issue - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/showthread.php?p=1274256

I'll end this here. You have your opinion, I have mine.

No issues, just differing ideologies. I think like an Indian commuter, MotoBlizzard is very much into biking unlike me (I would never think of going to the track lol).

You could say that. I go to the track every Sunday. Chicane circuit at Leonia resort. It's originally a goKart track but excellent for small capacity bikes as well.

Can you please share the pics of extra padding which you have added to the seat ? Did you add extra layer over on top of the stock seat or replaced the stock seat foam totally ?

I'm getting join pain next to groin area after just 10kms of driving...

Is anyone aware of a good service centre in delhi for the gixxer sf? Preferably suzuki 's.
I have used the free services at jsr Suzuki. They tried to charge "parking charges" the last time (additional 50 rs per hour). So I'm looking to switch.
