Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You mean it's difficult to make a U-turn, lock the handlebar/unlock it? The steering race bearing/cone set bearing might need adjustment and re-greasing depending on how many kms you have clocked in the bike. It has to be re-greased at 10000-12000 kms and loose-ness checked at every service but SVC doesn't. Sometimes, it would be a case of a badly routed cable (choke/clutch/throttle).Originally posted by presidency View PostMy gixxer handlebar got hard to manuever on roads. Is there any problem on the handlebar? Is there any kind of bearing or smthing like it recommended by suzuki? Whats the cost of such thing?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Online can't be sure. If you are ready to search offline then, Goto any sfk showroom and check out, they have a catalogue with various MC brand specific race and bearing, see if it is available for Gixxer and let us know too.Originally posted by presidency View PostIs a ball racer bearing (used in handle) used for gixxer availaible online?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Not available online or in two-wheeler spare stores. Spares of Suzuki are mostly available only at the SVCs.Originally posted by presidency View PostIs a ball racer bearing (used in handle) used for gixxer availaible online?
Forgot to add: Lower tyre pressure than normal can also cause heaviness in steering.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Seems like you havent read your Owner's manual properly. If your manual is the same as mine then go to page 6-5 and look at S.No: 20Originally posted by sufi859 View PostSorry I mean to disc brake oil.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The brake fluid, commonly called as "brake oil" by cab-walas and in spare stores has to be replaced (not merely topped-up) every 2 years. This is what Suzuki recommends. You can replace it a little earlier if you want to but don't prolong the interval. This is applicable to all discs front or rear, left or right!Originally posted by sufi859 View PostHow often we should change the disc oil of Gixxer SF Fi?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
So guys.. A tragedy happened.
I took my bike for the third service, and guess what.. They forgot to put the freaking engine oil!!!!
The most important thing they do is to change the oil, and they didn't do it.
To top that up, myself being an idiot and trusting their job, never checked for the engine oil, and rode almost 700 kms like that. I had engine heating issues, engine shut down on hard braking, and i was very confused as to why this stuff is happening.
Then i had a drastic drop in mileage, and by chance my eye caught the engine oil window and i was devastated to see it empty.
I was hoping that i had an oil leak coz i didn't want to believe that i rode 700km like that, but i took it to a local mechanic and he did put in oil and gave me the dreaded news that it is not a leak, svc guys mistake.
Now after a week of refill, the bike is smoother than ever before, but mileage has dropped too low.
I have done 5800 km on the bike, 9 months old. Please let me know what should I do now when I go to svc for next service. What all checks i should ask them to do for engine wear?
If there is damage, will the warranty cover it?
Any help will b appreciated. Thanks!!
PS : As motul oil was not avlbl, the mechanic suggested shell 20-50 oil. Since, it is summer i took his advice. The bike feels smoother and gear shifts are better than before now.
