During bike Cleaning , clean chain and lube at that time, then after 500 kms, lube chain again....next clean chain and lube again and repeat the process. Follow this way and it'll work as it did mine.

    Clean with kerosine.
    Use motul c2 chain lube.

I tested my bike by not lubing for some time, the kat kat kat kat sound started and stopped when taking care of the chain. Its all about maintainance.

During Cleaning, Remove any sand or dust around the chain and the rubber area over which the chain passes

Did anyone changed the stock bulb to any other halogen bulb like one of Osrams?

Is there any improvement in the light ?

They did a thorough maintenance this time which included tuning the rear wheel alignment / chain tension etc. I had this weird khat-khat noise as others have mentioned here. Probably from the chain / front sprocket after my 2nd service which they said is regular chain noise and should go after a while. It did reduce after a while if not totally silent. However, after my 3rd service it came back again. Its like even if I rotate the rear wheel by hand, I can hear the khat-khat noise somewhere on the front sprocket / chain. Can anyone tell me what should I do? Should I just ignore this? Also, the front and mid end (handlebars / footpegs/ petrol tank) of my bike has recently started vibrating a little during acceleration. I wonder if its cause of this chain issue
Follow Regular chain cleaning n lubing after 500 kms. Do it for sometime and observe again.

Technically it wont affect the resale value as a normal person wont be able to tell any difference, heck even Gixxer owners from my place dint know it. (Unless you were referring to my fender elimination mod)

As for teh new swingarm through the warranty, I am kind of afraid about that issue. If the area engineer comes down I will have a detailed talk with him and see what can be done.

It actually does have a long term damaging potential. Uneven tyre, sprocket and chain wear. The rear brake rotor should be fine but that has issues of its own due to wheel misalignment and what not...

Will update here with more info as the process goes through.

No, I wasn't referring to the mod but the manufacturing bug (appropriate term these days may be?). Yes, I have seen that they were paying unusually more attention to the rear wheel this time (misalignment etc) even though I didn't mention anything about the noise. One interesting thing to note is that if I try to drag the bike or rotate the wheel backwards it doesn't make the noise. Makes me wonder if reversing the sprocket would temporarily fix the noise/ vibes until we reach a proper solution. I don't have any other issue with the bike. So ya, do let us know of any update you reach with the engineer. For now I will wait for a few 100 kms to see if this reduces again. Else, I might just visit a local mechanic to loosen the chain a little.

The stock mirrors are really irritating. Either you have to tighten it so much that you can't fold it in traffic, or it gets loose every now and then. Did anyone try the CBR 250 mirrors? I know the Pulsar 220 mirrors are a direct fit for this, but the viewing angle gets reduced.

We got the Gixxer 155s mirrors put on the handlebar and removed the fairing mounted mirrors because of this. It just protrudes too much. Now it isn't a pain to ride in traffic and looks much better as well!

I encountered an unusual issue today while riding my SF. I was riding at 70 in the 5th gear, i slowed down as a breaker was approaching, released the throttle, pulled in the clutch and brake and as soon as i downshifted from 5th to 4th gear my engine just shut off. All the electricals were working. I crossed the breaker, pressed the electric starter and the bike was running again. This happened 2 times, both when i slowed down at a breaker and downshift. I'm guessing it is an issue with lower idle RPM. Any other solutions for the same ?

Like Monk said, Handlebar mirrors are definitely the way to go. The bike should never have had fairing mirrors. Look at the GSX-S1000F for example.

might end up doing this. even the smallest force seems to tilt the fairing rvm easily. do you remember how much the gixxer handlebar rvm cost?

Its better to have the cheaper handlebar mirrors than the Long SF fairing mirrors because IIRC, the fairing mirrors cost 350 or 500 a piece or was it 700 not sure. But yeah, its severely more expensive than Handlebar mirrors.

@All if anyone is interested in trying out the FS Motul oil, its on lightning deal right now 4hrs and counting down. Pretty good value if you ask me
