Guys if u don't specifically ask, they will use idematsu engine oil which is crap/QUOTE]
About this you are so True, they used some stupid oil from a big ENGINE OIL Can and tool 1 Ltr. and pour in my bike,
As if i'm buying Cooking oil from a local shop -_-
When i asked then WTF is this Oil a shooroom mechanic said "Sir, This is relience Engine oil (I was Like OMFG, wth is thi ?)
" and he said, this is the best oil i'll suggest you to use on your gixxer. JUST WAOO !!!!! so NOOBSS !!!
Anyways, Do you suggest to Replace that Stupid Relience oil by MOTUL 7100 10W40 ?
Coz i have to live with that Current oil for 2 Month, and i can't imagine that oil doing some serious vo-do to my engine,
FYI- I Drive about 8-10 Kms Daily, sometime 15-20 but once in a Week.
What i was thinking to get a bottle of MOTUL to next servicing and tell them to use this "Local , Cheap Motul oil, coz i can't afford your Relience Oil , lol
".
We have What's App Group for Suzuki Gixxer, so Much can be shared there and problem can be responded ASAP.
What's App or Message me - Your name and Location on 9808282423 , I'll add you to group

If your bike is new, then I would suggest that you use the oil provided by the company, as it will help in proper break in of new engine. The full synthetic is not ideal for new engines as it produces less friction.
If your engine has crossed 2000 Kms, time to use full synthetic. I am using Mobil 1 full synthetic since 2600 km on odo . Now it has clocked 4650+ kms, no problem so far noticed. Gear shifting has improved.
And I would suggest you do your oil change yourself or from a local mechanic(in front of you). The company service wont allow you near the bike.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello.,
This saturday I've to get my first servicing done.,well the km's I might get it done is 550-600 maybe.
Do I ask them to use a special oil which you guys discuss in the above posts? or else go with the one they use?
and in addition to oil change and chain lube they are asking me to get some polish done( I forgot the name).,they say that the polish helps in summer times and it will stay for 3 months.
Do I really need to do it? because I never keep my bike in sun.,no chance of it anywhere near my home or at my college it doesn't get affected by sun light. and what I thinking is to get the polish done at my second servicing that might be in May.
What do you guys think?

No, stick to stock oil because your engine is still in run in process. After 2k or 3k kms you can think of using Motuls.Originally posted by Prahasitv View PostHello.,

Prahasitv - aah the wonderful time when engine is still running in....mate i would suggest not to go with fully synthetic oil as it is extremely smooth and would not help in the parts running in like they shud..so go with semi synthetic and the oil they wud use, jus let them do it cos' am sure they wud use idematsu which is cheaper and semi synth aswell..
By polish i guess they're re referring to Teflon coating...yes it does help a little in delaying the paint fading that happens when bikes get older and prolong paint life...but gixxers are arguably the best bikes in terms of paint quality finish to have ever been made in india.
So teflon coat is negligible...NEVER.....Take your eyes off the road...!!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Ok, I changed the front disk along with the break pads this weekend. Cost 1.9k.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostPosting after a long time. I have crossed 10,200 km since getting gixxy on 25th June 2015. Has been one hell of a journey, she ignited a passion in me that I never knew existed.
But time has come for me to say goodbye to her as I need a more powerful bike with the amount of touring that I do. I am thinking of selling her now.
One problem now I have is the front disk making a squeaky noise once in a full revolution. Got it checked at my 4th service last week and there seems to a slight bend in the disk.
I am not sure if the disk is covered under warranty. SVC had no clue but anyway quoted 1.8k for replacing the disk.
Have any of u had similar issue, if so how did you guys fix it.
I checked and it was indeed a disk bend though slight caused the noise as well as the tyre would stop spinning freely at that point.
Sent email to Suzuki and they called and said disk bend is not covered in warranty, only rust is.
So paid up and got it changed. Now bike is good as new.
Re sale of Suzuki bikes are dull, people pick up 2-3 years old Yamaha, Honda bikes in a jiffy but not year old Suzuki bikes. Will wait for a good deal.

Yup teflon coating and they said if they do it in normal times it costs 600/- but during free servicing time it costs only 300/-.Originally posted by gr8mindhiphopin83 View Post@Prahasitv - aah the wonderful time when engine is still running in....mate i would suggest not to go with fully synthetic oil as it is extremely smooth and would not help in the parts running in like they shud..so go with semi synthetic and the oil they wud use, jus let them do it cos' am sure they wud use idematsu which is cheaper and semi synth aswell..

So I thought of it doing during 2nd servicing.

Re: About gixxer sf modifications
The stock exhaust sounds pretty nice to me, specially when you are going fast and pulling on the throttle hard. If you want you can go for arkapovic but those are single exhaust compared to the stock which is dual. Also good exhausts are pretty expensive. Dont go for knock offs.Originally posted by Vijay Thakur View PostI want to know about the after market exhuast for gixxer sf for better sound and performance.
And I also want to install Kawasaki ninja zx 10r's kind of rear view mirror(RVM) in my gixxer sf.
If it is possible please help me iN that.
the handlebar mirror mounts can be used to mount a lot of styles of mirrors. but they add weight to the handle bars and make handling crappier.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
So short review about the bike after 1st service bike became smooth and revs freely and the issue is if i don't look at speedo i would be riding at 90 and scared what??? I don't feel like going at 90 the bike is that good and which makes us easily acquired to power give a sense of not enough power . brakes are good but not best fz brakes has good bite power delivery is linear unlike pulsar which has sudden surge last but not least no vibes make long drive much calm
