They should be use MOTUL 10w40 mineral or fully synthetic. That's what Suzuki recommends.

What do you mean by long service intervals. My friend has got a KTM Duke 200, and its intervals are excessively long.

I also got my license from Haldwani RTO and did all the process work by myself. So here's the total expense :

        1) File cover and 2 forms(Learner) = Rs10
        2) Learner License fee = Rs60
        3) Written Test fee = Rs25
        4) Medical Certificate fee = Rs15
        5) Permanent License fee(after 1 month) = Rs200

So total expense from Learner to Permanent License is just Rs 310 [emoji4]

I think this should be near about same in all over India!!
If you didn't read full i said including Petrol too that makes 100 Rs of Petrol

My first service Experience - It took just 15 Min. to service my Bike, and they use their shitty oil, they'll tell you to wait and do their shit inside , When i ask what oil you used , they said, Relience, WTF is relience and over it they had 50 Liter of Engline oil Tank from which they were taking 1 -1 liter for each vehical , that make me mad, I'd suggest you to carry Motul 7100 10W40 bottle with yourself and tell them strictly to use this.

1st Service Duration is Quick, not much to do , rest depend on your how late or soon your number come for servicing, i'd suggest go as soon the show room opens

My bad brother, as I didn't thought that you would require rs170(480-310) worth of fuel to reach the RTO, maybe because I didn't fill any extra fuel to reach there at that time.

Actually he told me that currently he is living in Delhi , so I was confused whether he used to live in haldwani or he had a home here and working in Delhi.

The service guy used Motul mineral 10w40 and he said the whole 1l is used. ( The manual says 850 without filter change and 950 with it). I enquired about the fully synthetic one and they said I can opt for it. Planning to do that next time.

They had put in some additives on the first service and AFAIK those are not required, so I asked the service manager there. (seemed to be a senior, informed and cooperative guy). Here's what he told me.

                  1. First additive they use is for the fuel tank, resists corrosion, rust etc and prevents its inner lining.
                  2. Second additive for engine, increases viscosity.
                  3. These are no way compulsory, but good to have.

I decided not to get them this time and observe any differences.

The idle rpm has increased from 1k to 1.5-2.0k. So the bike felt more powerful (unnecessarily) the moment I rode it from the service center and turned back to know if this is alright. They said its better at this level and would help in cold start and mileage. But my logic says more fuel would be burnt even while I'm waiting at a signal, so mileage ought to be screwed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The worst issue I'm facing now is that the engine seems to be overheating too soon. I don't remember that happening before.
Can this be because of excess engine oil ? Need some pointers here.
for your information ..idle rpm can be set with bare hands.. there in no connection with other things.. set it between 1 to 1.5 max .. contact svc

How much mileage are you guys getting with your SF?
I ride at max 70-75kmph. Usually at around 60kmph
                          Shift gears by 3500rpm

I get mileage of about 52kmpl using normal petrol and using Shell V Power (Costs 72.4rs per litre) 56 kmpl

                          Is this normal?

Thanks for the heads up bro, I'm aware of the idle rpm screw and using it. I just wanted to know what is the best value to set it at. A high value will make the engine always be running fast, even in neutral.

That's pretty good mileage. Are you disappointed or amazed?

some people are busy most of the times -_-

currently working on PST hours so i did not bother for such simple things really.

                                but since you insist

First additive they use is for the fuel tank, resists corrosion, rust etc and prevents its inner lining

                                1. Funny thing is if there is water inside the fuel tank, you have worse problems to worry about because water will condense and since its heavier than petrol it will go into your carb and you will definitely feel it. Also since the tank is a sealed unit, which contains petrol, a very easy to evaporate fluid, at any point of time there will be a lot more petrol vapour than water vapour.

funny thing i was offered additives as well but what they said was it will improve fuel efficiency. just shows you how much they bullshit people.

                                2. Increases viscosity? for what, engine oil? are you running with water instead of engine oil? You know what 10W40 means? it means a very specific range of oil viscosity, anything different from that is not suitable for your engine specially ones like this which uses oil cooling.(yes gixxer engines spray oil under the pistons to keep the engine cool) just buy a better engine oil from next time. -_-
have you ever touched engine oil and seen how thick and adhering it is? Plus 10w40 is easily available in fully synthetic, which is what SVC uses and is recommended for the bike, which is why the service intervals are so large because synthetic oils dont decompose much and hence retain their "viscosity" and other characteristics a lot lot longer.

hope that solves your queries and maybe you will learn gain some good manners. Till then o/
