Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
To be honest you don't have to wait for nothing, you can change your oil within 500 km to 3000 km , only it will affect your pocket, but i'll suggest atleast run your engine with company oil for atleast a month or 500Kms which ever is early, then you can go .Originally posted by nikCool View Post

I guess its normal. Happened with me too, bike's alright. Reduce the rpms if you feel you're stressing the engine.Originally posted by akash22 View PostAfter a long drive bike gives out some smell as if something is burning is it normal for new bikes

Guys, thought of sharing that happened with me last weekend.
After getting a wash, my bike started stalling on quick acceleration @ ~5k rpm, and the engine's sounded strange with immediate loss of power and rpm.
My friend accompanying me thought it might be water in the silencer or tank and we tried letting the engine idle for some time. That surely didn't help. Foolish of us I know.
*first bike problems*
Took it immediately to the nearest service centre and the guy knew instantly what it was - blocked air filter. *facepalm*
Had read about it so many times in the forum, but didn't occur to me then.
So guys, moral of the story : Always check for a blocked air filter if you feel the engine is lacking power.
Hope this helps someone like me

There is absolutely no way water can block air filter by external wash . Air filter cleaning is a regular maintenance work, barely takes 10 mins to do.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Just removed the seat to check if any water had gone under it. There was an envelope of documents which I used to keep there carefully so that the air filter isn't blocked, but it somehow got misplaced covering it when I closed the seat back. Lesson learnt, not keeping anything like that now. Kept the envelope with the toolkit.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostDid you remove seat and washed the bike ?

I found the envelope a little wet though. Also some water collects around the fuel tank cap.

I read an article saying about these corrosion problems of gixxer in internet by the owners who own 2014 gixxer. Suzuki serviced all those vehicles with anti corrosive agent and replaced those affected parts for free. But these problems are only found at 2014 models. Later ones were produced with proper care by suzuki. I think you are residing near coastal area. R u?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello guys! My first post in this thread. Thought to share with you all. I used to have the Gixxer SF (Moto GP edition) which I sold in November.. Just wanted to share with you this tiny mod. If you have the Moto GP edition, try to have the rims full green colored, or according to me the best option would be half blue and half green. This will look a much sportier look and will even match the color.. Now you would be thinking why I'm saying to have the green color.. If you see carefully, the bike at some points has green color.. Try this mod if you like it.. Everyone had told me that after getting the bike's rim colored, the bike was looking better.
I've one mod of the headlight. Will post it later.
I hope you all like it.
Thank you
Aman

No need. Just wait till first service and tell them the problem.

,not used to high moisture & salty condition . You can buy a anti corrosion spray can use it to prone areas .
