Can some body tell me the difference between Gixxer SF & Gixxer (non faired) ?

Apart from fairing I didn't notice any difference. Any additional inclusions like Rear Disc Break, Fi or Oil Cooler ?

I am assuming they are charging about 10k more for SF compared to it's naked sibling.

    No other difference.

Come, drop in the ZMR thread and you'll certainly find interesting things this not-so-loved bike does.

I am one of those who get the same FE figures as DS does.. ~48000 kms done and 5 years of ownership... The FE figures I am talking about are at speeds of ~90 kmph.. includes terrains..

Seen the SF. Absolutely gorgeous to look at. Perhaps the only better looking machine than the FZ (previous non-Govinda version &#128513 in its segment. I had a random questions for Gixxer owners. Clearly the bike can do 90-95kmph all day long, just wanted to know at what RPM is that speed being maintained by the bike?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread

Okay guys and fellow big brothers...this is my first post and i am a rookie rider...just ordered the triton blue moto gp edition and it for the love of god they gave me a whooping 1 lakh 1 thousand 700 quotation and a ONLY 2 months of waiting period
So nothing to do but to know my bike in the forums
Where my brother pointed me a very interesting point ( please dont laugh as i said earlier i am a rookie)that where is the crush guard or leg guard? Can there be any ?
The naked gixxer has them as i have seen in the forum but does our sf missed them being the casualty of the fairing ?
                I have also seen r 15 v2.0 missing them
Is there a way to attach crush guards to our sf ? Or because of the fairings it cant be done ?
I am a rookie so the bike may tip over a time or two and i know those guards would have definitely help stop scratches and moreover me being on a wheelchair
So to conclude is there is a guard available? Can it be attached from the services centers ? Or i have to look it in the local shops ? And what it may cost ?
Eagerly waiting for reply from THE bikers

You get crash bobbins or spool sliders for bikes with fairings. Dont know if the SF has mounting points though.

Went to the dealership to do a test ride. Handles really well and the build quality is top notch. But i ended up taking home a Let's scooter instead...and now I'm sad!!

The service centre guys are douchebags
If you talk to them in bengali they speak in hindi
                    When i started talking hindi
                    They started in bhojpuri
Luckily i knew a bit of bihari
Then a overqualified comes at his rescue and started talking "we has no information"
Then i realized there is no point arguing with them thus asking in the forum

That is a design limitation. You cannot fit a crash guard to a fully faired bike. Fazer has a semi fairing and you can see it having the crash guard.
Also, it would look bad. If you favor the crash guard over a fairing, Gixxer would be the more sensical choice.

Now, coming to frame sliders; equipments you can put on a faired bike to minimize damages in case you tip over; this is a debated topic.
But, whatever I have gathered in the brief while I've been riding, I have learnt that these equipments are good at slow to moderate speed falls/crashes only. At speeds of 60+ or so, the very same frame slider acts as a pivot and transfers all the stress to the bike's frame (as the name suggests, these sliders are mounted on the frame because there is no other place suitable enough) and may easily result in frame bends, cracks etc.
I always feel that replacing a fairing is easier and more economical than the frame.

Rather, I'd pick up the right (and correct) riding habits and some good quality riding gear to cover me from head to toe.

                          Ride safe!

                            Thanks for the suggestion
I am not a rash driver and only commute something south of 50 kms
As far as my common sense goes The crash guard wont save me from a broken leg or scratched bike in 40+ speeds.
I just needed something that will save the fairing if the bike tips
Have to do extensive research on the frame sliders to get one suitable for it

I am pretty confused between RS200 and the Gixxer SF. Need pillion comfort, long rides as well as decent city rides. Not going to be cornering or racing on track but still need a powerful engine which wont give way under pillion weight and ghats. Plus, am not too sure of suzuki service network or quality, bajaj is pretty spreaded across the country. Any suggestion will be of great help.

Plz give honest opinion and not one influenced by your love towards your bike

I know both are great bikes in their own regard and hence the confusion of choice

                                Will suggest you for rs
Even though sf will never run out of breath or won't be slow on tarmacs and is one of the best commuters
Rs will do all these( though they come from completely different leagues)
But will do a bit better( except the vibration and mileage part)
But ask yourself do you want to spend a 50k extra for "a bit better "?
I think that will sum it up
