This is a very small issue. I upgraded to GS150R 1 down 5 up gears from previous Caliber115 all down gears. It took about 15 minutes to get used to the new pattern, but even after 7 years sometimes I press the gear lever down rather than up, and then smile under my helmet in the memory of my first bike.

In short, gear pattern is not a cause to worry.

Guys i have seen on some of the videos that Gixxer had the documents keeping place at under the seat, just want to ask you if we kept our bike insurance, PUC & other important documents under seat, is their any chance of becoming wet them in rainy season, because in mumbai, we had the nakabandi in every area they do ask for these papers every time.

          Hey Everyone!

I bought my first bike - Gixxer SF

I debated between Pulsar AS200, Gixxer SF and Fazer V2.0.

Test drove Gixxer(non SF) - Loved it. Just wished it had more power.
          Test drove Pulsar AS200 - was too unrefined/tall/uncomfortable for me.(Im 6.1)
Test Drove Fazer V2.0 - Was pretty decent, however not a big fan of the design plus too common.
Test Drove the Pulsar RS200 - Very fast bike, decent flickability considering its weight. Didnt like the extreme heat the radiator fan blew into my legs every 2 minutes the bike stopped. Loved it otherwise. 2 months waiting period was the fact which killed this option for me. Needed a bike in 20 days max.

Finally settled on the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition. Booked on 31st May. After lots of haggling and debates with dealer (Value Suzuki, Millers Road, Bangalore) got the bike on 8th June . Total amount on road - 1.04lakhs

I also bought a SOL SF1 DOT certified helmet for this bike. Its a bit heavy, but has amazing solid feel, clear visor and sun visor, DOT certification, chin dust protection mesh, 18 vetns for intake and exaust!, LED on the back for night rides.

          Initial Impressions -

Have driven it for 600kms till now. Approx 80% city and 20% highway driving.
This bike is an absolute stunner. People keep glancing multiple looks on the road, ALL the time. Blue colour looks amazing.

I had gotten Teflon coating done from Suzuki alongwith a seat cover and number plates for 560 total. Also purchased 3 years extended warranty @ Rs 800.

          1. Bike is very flickable, movement in traffic is effortless
          2. Flickability comes at the cost of stability(a little). windblasts can make hte bike jittery. Though its better than Gixxer. rs200 didnt face this issue this much.
          3. Rear braking is very very weak. Infact the play of my rear brake has increased a lot. Will need to get this fixed soon.
          4. Mirrors are foldable and cover a wide area. However the right side mirror has become a bit loose. Mechanic promsied to relace it completely as they dont have a lever to tighten it yet.
          5. Bike was shutting down when idle or when downshifting from 60-0, shut down in between. Went to SVC.. problem has reduced now.
          6. Headlight - Stock alignment of headlight is horrible. Went to SVC to get this fixed, which took 20 mins. Also installed Philips Clearvision 55/60W bulb. Massive improvement in lighting, for both city and highways. Recommend this to everyone. No problem with upgrading bulb. Asked SVC and a couple of independent workshops as well as it is connected directly to battery.
          7. Bike gets dirty very easily. Currently I wash it end to end every Sunday, and wipe a wet cloth on fairing everyday.
          8. Keeping it under 4.5k for now, but go above it intermittently for a couple of seconds every now and then. Very difficult to control speed under limit, especially on highways.
          9. Tyres are great for dry tarmac, however over loose rubble or wet broken roads they slip a LOT. I dont know why they are praised so much. My rear brakes locked up a couple of times on rubble. However note - they are great on dry unbroken tarmac.
          10. Suspension is a bit stiff, but I've gotten used to it.
          11. Since this is my first own bike I drive 20-30kms everyday. At times 60-80kms as well. My Rear took some tiem adjusting to the seating of the bike. Now either the seat has broken in or my rear has gotten used to it. But its definetely not a plush seat. :P
          12. Pillon comfort is more than a Fazer, Fzs etc. But def less than proper tourers and even the Pulsar AS200 has better pillon comfort. For under 30k per day its ok.
          13. Currently getting 42kmpl. Happy with the mileage for now.
          14. Horn is puny . WIll think about upgradation later.
          15. While washing bike at times after the wash the bike refused to rise above 2k RPM and used to die out. Rode like this for a km or so and the problem was solved. Apparently according to SVC mechanic water gets near spark plug while washing(though i dont know how). Anyways more careful while washing near engine now. No such problems in rain.
          16. Strongest in 2-3 gear around 3k-5k band(havent gone higher till now)

Going to get some riding gear in the next 10 days.
          1. TBG ADV BReed Riding jacket
          2. TBG Street Gloves

Will update more as and when I ride this bike more.

I am not microscopic by any means with a 200 pound frame but i have to admit
The bike is looking like a dwarf with respect to your stature
            And congrats on your bike

Hehe. Yea, the bike does look smaller than other bikes I was TD'ing.

But I loved the looks and handling of this bike. Something like the CBR250R would be the perfect fit for me, though definitely not my wallet :-P

The size does not matter as long as you are not with a pillion
As i weigh nearly as much as the bike does underbelly scraps and scratches in Himalayan style bumpers are regular issue for me
That's the only issue i faced on this bike
(God i miss 190 mm ground clearance on my brothers cbr)

Dude, the bike is already selling like hot cakes and has waiting period of 2 months. I tried to haggle but they didn't budge a bit.
They are providing parking cover and extended warranty in the mentioned OTR i.e. 100500/-
They will give you list of accessories that you can choose from. I haven't finalized them yet, want to do some research before I commit.
The extended warranty is included in the OTR as far I remember.

I had made the deal with a sales guy first but i spoke to Bhanushali as well. he wrote the advance receipt for me.

Dont know why suzuki isnt beefing up there production line
Because why not manufacture products which are demanding
Or maybe they want to create a hype by a bad marketing strategy
I was given a deadline of 2 months too

Went to a dealership today to book the mighty gixxer sf, hoping that the waiting period will be around 2 weeks. But sadly, the showroom guy said that it will take two months to get the bike. Gonna check on other showrooms to get it earlier as possible. i cant wait to put my hands on it...

But sadly, the showroom guy said that it will take two months to get the bike. Gonna check on other showrooms to get it earlier as possible. i cant wait to put my hands on it...
I think no one can deliver the bike sooner
Its the biggest pain we have to bear with
I have completed 1month of waiting
                              Another one remained

Yeah right speak with dolphin Suzuki dealer about it he mentioned people are ready to give 15k extra for earliest delivery but they are getting shortage of bike from company it self....

Really Suzuki have to increase the production of of sf
