Hi guys, got my SF last week...delivered on 25th June from SMK Suzuki.
I leart to ride bikes only a month before using one of my friends RTR 160, coming from that to SF. The initial impression is that the engine is butter smooth and power delivery is linear.
There is a few hiccups like gear not engaging properly when rapidly downshifting and front fairing wobbling initially(fixed after showing it to showroom). Have clocked 400kms already driving around Chennai.
Thinking of driving all the way to Coimbatore once first service is done (+/-1000km to n fro)....will post about it once back.
Please can someone suggest where I can get good riding jackets and gloves in Chennai...checked spartanprogear already and they have limited stocks only.
    Thanks in advance.

            Please visit Riding Gears thread.
Stay away from Probikers/Scoyco gloves etc as these are cycling gloves.

Avoid LS2 jackets because they're poorly made. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ar-thread.html
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

                  1. Low ground clearance - Whenever a pillon is present the bottom scrapes on tall speedbreakers. Shouldve given higher GC.
                  2. Clunky gear box - Presumably this will improves after 1st and 2nd service, but as of now the gear box has a lot of false neutrals inbetween 1-2, 2-3, 5-4, 4-3 etc. Mostly this is seen in start stop traffic.
                  3. Engine cutoff at low rpms - Happens at traffic lights when the engine is hot. Also happens some times when it is cold. Has reduced compared to earlier, but the issue hasnt still gone away.
                  4. Squeaking noise in rear and front brakes
                  5. Rear brake pedal play is more than needed, rear brake bike is very less(Incredibly weak rear brakes). Front brakes are great though.
                  6. Eco indicator never gets displayed - I always have that Lightening bolt symbol next to ODO. Irrepespective of speed/rpm(under 5k max). Is this an issue?

Has anyone else seen above issues and how are you dealing with it?
Its been a week i have bought my New Gixxer SF, i am writing the intro and will post all the photos. But let me give my answers to the above questions:
                  1. I had once scraped when the pillion was heavy, all other times even with the pillion no scraping. Depends on the overall weight and the speed with which you go through the breaker.
                  2. False neutral experienced between 2-1.
Engine cutoff in the starting, now reduced.
                  3. Rear Brake very very weak. Any solution?
                  4. Eco indicator- yet to find.

First post on this forum. Got a call (within 10 days) from Chennai dealer stating that vehicle is ready despite stating that it would need 25 days. Wondering what went wrong or right!

Would be going to showroom to check the bike. Do I need to check and verify anything in the bike before paying the amount?

Also, saw couple of pictures of black sf. Looks a little rusted at the rear. (Must be 2 to 3 months old bikes). Is this how the Gixxer sibling too looks after few months?

Would as well like to know the registration process as well. Do I need to go to RTO office under any circumstance or will this be taken care by the dealer?

Congratz on the new Ride, if u dont mind me asking can u let me know where u booked the bike.

I booked in SMK suzuki porur chennai and they said 50 day delivery, but got the bike in 40 days. They said since there is a lot of demand and the production is less it took so long.

I have found a post somewhere on what to check when taking a bike from showroom....just checking lights, verifying the registration numbers,scracthes,panesl...that sort of thing...i am sure u can find it .

Registration is completly taken care of by the dealer, registration done and took the bike on the same day....didnt have to goto RTO at all. Hope this helps.

I had booked in Pallavaram. I have been led to believe that couple of earlier bookings were cancelled and there are few others who aren't ready with their finances yet which has led to this.

Even i have ordered the Gixxer SF Moto GP edition from Dolphin Suzuki 17th of Last month.
There were around 6-7 people before me in the list.
Yes, they don't have demo of SF, had to take the naked Gixxer test drive instead.
The OTR on the official Suzuki website for Mumbai is 99238. They are providing extra stuff like cover, helmet (asked them to replace that with something else as i would be buying my own helmet) and extended warranty so 100500 is ok IMHO.
I had to give 10K booking amount as well.
Now desperately waiting for next month as the SF gets delivered. Hate this extremely long wait...
                                Hey Dude...

Did you received your SF Moto GP edition from Dolphin Suzuki ??? as the 17th july is already near, did you received any calls from dealer or did you make any inquiry to dealer about delivery of SF ???

Please reply will assist me in waiting for my SF .......
