And since I had already planned a visit to Vijayanagar today, I thought of giving Avinash Suzuki a try. The two showrooms couldn't be more different in the way they are run. I was pleased with the customer-friendly nature of the staff, and couldn't fault them on anything.

I opted for full cash payment, and have been promised to get the bike delivered to me tomorrow, albeit, with a temporary license plate.

Good for you! So, you have made the payment and you saw the bike too i guess?

Because i have been waiting for 19 days now!

I didn't see the bike yet; not up close anyway. They had it perched on the second floor next to the glass. I'll be doing a thorough check of the bike tomorrow, before I accept it as mine.

And as of noon today, they had one SF each in Black and White for sale, after I took the only Blue one they had. This, despite being told about a 15 day booking period when I first approached the reception. Their reasoning was that a lot of customers have merely paid the booking advance, and are yet to pay for the bike as they're waiting for "aashada" to end. *shrugs*

All that matters to me is that I get a new and flawless machine to start with.

Heard that Gixxer SF Price will be increased within 2 days! (Whole Suzuki 2-wheeler fleet will be hiked by minimum 1.5k is what I heard)

Would this be why the dealers are holding onto the bikes even with beefed up production?

If you have booked the bike with some advance then they will charge the price that was on the day of booking no matter how much it increases
In my case it was 1 lakh 1thousand 700 rupees including everything quoted on 18 june

Are you sure about that? Because i read otherwise. That booking is not enough to escape this and rather i should go ahead and buy it in full payment. I called a dealer casually to enquire about the availability and they told me that they have a couple of bikes available which would be subject to price increase if i don't pay by tomorrow and take it!

So, I would suggest you to confirm with the dealer once

I told you from the best of my knowledge
Yes i have asked them before making the comment
And moreover if you have ordered it and it takes 2 months and more to reach you and while in the meantime it gets increased it's not your fault
So if you have paid something for booking rest assured the price will not increase but it may also depend on dealers and states

Cool. I just reconfirmed with my dealer, and they mentioned that it will impact all future deliveries irrespective of the booking date. So, bad news for me atleast!

I had the weirdest situation at Dolphin Suzuki Mumbai.
Even if i opted for full payment and not advance they would charge the price of the bike according to the price on the day of delivery.
So basically if the price increases the difference would be paid extra....

My dealer at Kiran Suzuki Mumbai told me that if bike arrives in showroom before 31st July... then they wont charge hiked price... and that should be the case bcoz the distributor shud not charge if he providing the bike to dealer before 31st.

Ideally yeah, Sagar. But this is quite an opportunity for the dealers to make more money (Just like what happens in Petrol Bunks on the day before a price hike!)

So it depends on the dealer at the end of the day

Tell them that u want to cancel the booking... and want to book somewhere else. Tell them that other dealer is giving u at current price... see what happens...

So after so much of contemplation and deliberation, I have come to my decision!

To summarize the day for me -

Saw the post from Dienver yesterday that he got the bike without a waiting period, and hence i decided to try my luck. So, I went ahead & called Aryan Suzuki (Domlur) to check for the waiting period at their showroom (I had already booked at Aryan Suzuki Whitefield on July 11th, when they quoted me 60 days of Waiting Period). They mentioned that if i could get to their showroom, they have 2 SFs available which i could get delivered by tomorrow! Also, they mentioned that the prices will increase by more than 2k by Aug 1st

I had a chat with the Whitefield showroom to check if they could allot one of those vehicles to me, but they were not sure. They said they can at the best deliver in another 5 days as they had 5 previous bookings before me. So, i decided to take the bike from Domlur & if that meant i have to cancel the existing booking, then so be it. So, I called them up and told about my chat with Whitefield branch, and fortunately for me, the sales manager was the one who received my call. And he is the one who takes care of all branches of Aryan Suzuki in Bangalore! So, after listening to me pleading to him for an early delivery and that i had booked a long back, he tells me he will take care of it and to wait for him to call me in an hour. Within 15 minutes, i got calls from both him and Whitefield showroom telling me that i could pay the amount today & receive my bike by tomorrow afternoon

So, here I am, counting down hours rather than days to lay my hands on my own Gixxer SF..... Few more hours....
