To summarize the day for me -

Saw the post from Dienver yesterday that he got the bike without a waiting period, and hence i decided to try my luck. So, I went ahead & called Aryan Suzuki (Domlur) to check for the waiting period at their showroom (I had already booked at Aryan Suzuki Whitefield on July 11th, when they quoted me 60 days of Waiting Period). They mentioned that if i could get to their showroom, they have 2 SFs available which i could get delivered by tomorrow! Also, they mentioned that the prices will increase by more than 2k by Aug 1st

I had a chat with the Whitefield showroom to check if they could allot one of those vehicles to me, but they were not sure. They said they can at the best deliver in another 5 days as they had 5 previous bookings before me. So, i decided to take the bike from Domlur & if that meant i have to cancel the existing booking, then so be it. So, I called them up and told about my chat with Whitefield branch, and fortunately for me, the sales manager was the one who received my call. And he is the one who takes care of all branches of Aryan Suzuki in Bangalore! So, after listening to me pleading to him for an early delivery and that i had booked a long back, he tells me he will take care of it and to wait for him to call me in an hour. Within 15 minutes, i got calls from both him and Whitefield showroom telling me that i could pay the amount today & receive my bike by tomorrow afternoon

So, here I am, counting down hours rather than days to lay my hands on my own Gixxer SF..... Few more hours....
Let us feast our eyes with the pictures tomorrow
    Congrats on you bike

Have anyone tried changing the bike to GP shift. I can't seem to be able to take off the link on the shifter(pic) even after removing the screw.

Another question, does anyone know what the two rubber tubes coming out from under the headlamp is???

By the way, here's MY bike.

Not sure about the Gear Pedal. But I guess the rubber tubes are to drain the condensation if any, inside the headlamp. It is usually present for all vehicles I guess.

Oh and nice pic! Did you go for the Teflon Coating or is it the stock shine??

its strange why almost all the dealers of all brands dont get the bike from distributor by tempo or something... the distributor is located nearley 40-50 kms away from the showroom... riders pick up the bike and ride all the way till showroom... i am sure they must not be following any restrictions under run-in period... i was ready pick the bike from distributor but then there are lots of things that needs be handled... TC no and Octroi are main... as of now i am agreed for rider to get the bike... but still little hesitant...

Does this 40-50 kms of rash riding really makes any difference? will it harm the engine much??

Is it true that they ride the bikes to the showrooms? I've seen the Bajaj showroom at Mekhri Circle unloading their fresh supplies of the trucks some mornings, so it can't be every showroom with that atrocious practice.

And news: I got my bike! It was in good shape, and I've gotten it fueled up to half the tank.

The bike feels great, but has niggles: gearshifts are hard and have an audible click, the front wheel offers resistance to rotational movement, there's more play in the throttle than I'd like, the the headlight reflector design could've been made with bad roads in mind ( I don't like the pattern of dispersion), lights everywhere feel inadequate, the rear brakes feel like mashed potatoes, and I wish they had an engine temperature gauge. The bike also feels more vibey and less responsive than the showroom ones (that was probably made the fuel tap being on reserve; I only noticed it once I parked it in my garage).

Now the good parts: the bike feels nimble, offers a very comfortable ride even on bad roads, it's easy to stand on the footrests, the clutch is very forgiving, and the bike maintains its composure despite the front diving a little during breaking. Most importantly, it's fun to ride, even in cities.

And Raslam, I 'm glad you're getting the bike tomorrow! I know it's been an incredibly long wait for you. Just don't forget checking it thoroughly.

The plan is to get done with the run-in period as soon as possible, so I'll be riding this beauty mostly after dark. Also, the thing is running on a temporary registration number; I run the risk of getting harassed by cops at their checkpoints.

And since everyone here seems keen on photographs, here's one I took right after I got home. The stains on the ground are from my RX; had forgotten turning the fuel tap off last night.

I had the response and shifter issues myself. It wouldn't start with the choke ON.
But tinkering with the AFR screw solved it('solved' is an understatement ), and the shifter issues disappeared after a few kilometers, the gearbox might also need breaking-in I suppose.

They use trucks/tempos only when there are more nos of bikes... which is very rare case... it also depends on the demand of particular model... bike such as gixxer sf does not have demand as much as the pulsars... bit even pulsars are ridden till showroom... thankfully Bajaj Godown is in the city here in mumbai so not much of the rash riding...

strange your bike is vibey... is it because bike is still in Run-in period and will smoothen out after 1st or 2nd service??

Fairing, different muffler, different handlebar clamp, clear lens indicators & mirrors mounted on fairing
That's all I can think of.
