Gear will become smoother with a couple more services.Originally posted by harshith k View PostGuys hey i got my bike after first service few days ago but the problem is gear shifting is still hard itself and all of the sudden my bike belly hitting to road humps so much before this i have rode my bike on the same road too is some thing should i 😕 or is this normal full faired bikes
Stiffen your monoshock for avoiding hitting the humps.
Ride safe

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
70? I did 89 on third gear I guess.Originally posted by gr8mindhiphopin83 View PostRetro..
I wud pick sf fi over rs200 anyday...again if i have to..
Refinement is everything my friend...not power..
SF does 85-90 on 6k rpm on 5th gear.,,that's it's sweet spot.,,cruising speed..so 7000 rpm for 100kmph maybe..but ut can easily sit on 100 all da with zero vibes..
The bike has very tall gears...you can ride
You can ride as fast as 75 on 3rd gear and 30 on 5th gear..,superb..it's a boon in cities cos' of fewer gear shifts and thereby longer ECG life..

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The bike is really well refined. My daily commute to office, i always hit 100kph. Its very at ease at 100 all day long!Originally posted by akash22 View PostSo short review about the bike after 1st service bike became smooth and revs freely and the issue is if i don't look at speedo i would be riding at 90 and scared what??? I don't feel like going at 90 the bike is that good and which makes us easily acquired to power give a sense of not enough power . brakes are good but not best fz brakes has good bite power delivery is linear unlike pulsar which has sudden surge last but not least no vibes make long drive much calm
Hell the handling is sooooo awesome, i take most turns at 90 and up!
My teamlead has an avenger 220 and that bike struggles to keep up with me. The only problem is that the suspension is quite hard and thats what you get with good handling characteristics. I hate those sharp plastic bumps that they use nowadays. Hurts my jewels

You're a menace on roads. I don't mind you alone getting hurt eventually.Originally posted by de.das.dude View PostMy daily commute to office, i always hit 100kph. Its very at ease at 100 all day long!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You don't have to be quite aggressive about it, and better not to wish someone to get hurt. I am also someone who gets to the 90s and 100s on my bike quite frequently. Doesn't mean that I have to be a menace to the drivers on the road. If the road is good enough and wide enough, you could utilize it to your advantage without harming anybodyOriginally posted by Freak inExile View PostYou're a menace on roads. Dude take it slow in speed bumps so that nothing gets hurt avengers are heavy new avenger might do justice to gixxer. But heavy pillion make uncomfortable and I can feel drop in power that's where avengers come into playOriginally posted by de.das.dude View PostThe bike is really well refined. Divya Sharan may shed some light on aggressive riding, 90 km/hr on corners.Originally posted by akash22 View PostHey what's with this attitude? ??~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Lol Well he never said he would do 90 in corner and I gotta accept 90 to 100 is risky in our roads but that does not mean u gotta be doing 60 all day jus following speed limit works in good stretch u need to make use of few horses. PeaceOriginally posted by Freak inExile View PostDivya Sharan may shed some light on aggressive riding, 90 km/hr on corners.

1. My commute consists of going on the Mumbai Pune Express way near Wakad.
2. Road conditions are excellent here. Pretty much all cars move at 70kph average.
3. I work the night shift. so i travel to at 8pm and back home at 3.30/4am.
Furthermore, i dont trust any other riders here. Hence i never do > 60kph even on relatively empty roads. People ride here without a care for others and hence you see many people cutting in without checking or signalling.
As for 90kph, on wide sweeping turns are not a big deal at all. I have been riding for 2.5months now prior to which i had no riding experience. 20% of my rear tyre on each side is still untouched. Which means i am riding far below the limits. So i do ride very carefully.
Before going onto main roads i used to get out at night and test the limits of my bike, i.e. what point is rear slipping under too much braking, at what point front is slipping. Then practice in those conditions to improve my skill.
remember its not the speed its the skill. Speed doesnt kill, lack of skill does.
Thanks. People in india still act like 100 is such a big deal! Even at 100 bike can stop within 6meters on adequate breaking.Originally posted by Raslam Showkath View PostYou don't have to be quite aggressive about it, and better not to wish someone to get hurt. i do take it below 20 but still i feel its too sharpOriginally posted by akash22 View PostDude take it slow in speed bumps so that nothing gets hurt avengers are heavy new avenger might do justice to gixxer. the plastic ones are satan's spawn and they are everywhere inside my office campus and apartment complex. Normal bumps are okay though.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You think 100 kmph on a highway is bad, then you better not run into me. If the roads allow me, I always do 140+, and blare my horn at all the poor commuters who dare travel in the fast lane.Originally posted by Freak inExile View PostYou're a menace on roads. Once, cruising at 75kmph, while checking mileage, I almost got run over by a bus even though I was on the extreme left side of the road. The kind bus driver left me 2 feet of tarmac to ride on, as he overtook me.
I realized that, its always better to ride ahead of everybody, that way you can concentrate on the vehicles in front, without the worry of being rear ended.
Ps : Sorry for the outburst.

this !!! as i mentioned, people dont really look around their surroundings when driving. this i feel is the cause of most accidents. I used to ride really slow and let every one pass. But it was scary as hell. No one gives you space. This is why now i blare my horns and rev at 7500rpm and flash lights to annoy people. BECAUSE ITS SAFER TO BE ANNOYING THAN TO BE INVISIBLE.
Also when you are driving fast more people actually notice you and let you throw. But there are still poor sods who think the right lane is for doing 40kph on a highway.
In the USA, bikers are actually allowed to go 5mph over the speed limit because its for the bikers safety. if we dont overtake vehicles we will get stuck in their blind spot.
also i would like to add that all the near crash incidents i have had were all when i was riding slow or stopped. None at high speeds. When you crash at high speed its mostly lack of skill, but at slow speeds its someone else's error. Most people in cars/vehicles forget that bikes cant crawl at 5kph like their cars can... F*CKIN CAGERS.

Is it now idling at 1000rpm now? Then dont fret, the carburetor has been tuned. First 1000kms they usually run rich whcih helps with break in.
Rich running means there is more power in the mid range(3k onwards) but the bike would rev to high rpms less easy. Proper tuned will shift the power band from 6k onwards which is proper for this bike.
Also bike would rev much easier due to increased top end.
if you are still suspicious, make sure chain is clean and lubed, and airfilter is clean as well.
