Dear Mr Das, you have earned an infraction.

      Hey guys!
      1) Is it okay to clean the chain using Kerosene, i did so once and it worked fine. Will it damage the O-rings in the long run?
      2) I used 3M chain lube to lube the chain(Over-lubed cause it was my first time &#128513 and for the next few days after a 20km commute I'd get a strong burnt sugary smell from the chain box, is this normal?
      3) My gear shifts got super smooth after lubing my chain! Coincidence or is there a connection? 😕

So i recently read about the k and n air filters...and its benefits...so does it really improve the performance of the bike?? And is it advisable to use that on a new bike which has roughly done 1200 kms??

For us free flow exhaust works good for fuel injected bikes the air filter. In our bikes we have to adjust carb and upjet it but in fuel injected it is done by the ecm automatically. So it's a big no , the bigger pores in k n filters will suck up fine dirt particles but our ones won't.

So, after receiving this Mini Busa on my birthday in Jan. It's been a very good experience.
In the first month or the break -in period, I couldn't put the bike to full use as my office is just 16-18 kms away from home & i used to take it on alternative days.
When the first service approached on Feb 19th, the odometer had done 450-460 kms. After the firs service, the bike felt very smooth.
But I continued to ride it under 5k rpm to ensure that I break-in upto 1000 kms. Couple of days ago I have completed 1000 kms on the odo & increased the rpm limit to 7k rpm.
But in the stop-go traffic in Mumbai, the bike stalls sometimes to which I found out that the choke was half way pulled down. That is fine now.
But when I try to rev for more speed the engine sounds a light knocking grunty.
Also, today I came to a very shocking situation, where I revved the bike on a long stretch, first acheiving 97kmph but after slowing down a bit a heard a sound "phatt" which I think came from the silencer. On another long stretch I achieved 102kmph & heard the same sound twice when slowing down. So, I stopped aside and checked if the silencer is fine, but it was hot. So I'm assuming that the engine would have been in stress that's why the sound. Can anyone share or help me knowing if it is fine or not?
                  Thanks

My another question is: "Whether this is because the oil has not been changed for quite some time?" Because I read somewhere in the earlier posts that Oil change should be done every 500 kms to ensure the smoothness of the engine. Is there any other issue that needs to be addressed? As the next service is in May? How do I keep the engine intact and the bike refined?

I am apprehensive about the same, but I guess our seniors will be able to tell us - @antz.bin, @RohIIT.

Also, I found another footage of the same kinda handlebar (Brand name: Moxi Steering Handle) on a Gixxer SF. Have a look:

Price is Rs. 3000 approx (http://www.amazon.in/Universal-Alumi...productDetails)

Replaced my stock bulb with osram night racer plus. Slightly better visibility at night and the beam is brighter - pale white.. I didnt have to remove the right side fairing even.

Hows the engine heating in stop and go traffic?

The engine does heat up, but you will only notice it by hearing/seeing the RPM of the engine rise up on idle. It will rise upto 2k or a little more in stop go traffic.

On a open high if I have been riding for hours and then stop to take a break the idle RPM will be at 3k, that's the highest it goes. So i turn off the engine and let it cool down for a little bit and then start it. Otherwise the heating doesn't bother you.

Ok so physically you dont feel the heat? Any long time effects of this heating specially in the heat of APril and May?
