Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Oh I didn't know engine warranty is useless. Thanks for the info. Anyways, got it for free so I don't mind much
Guys pls help. If anyone has bought their bike from Megavath Suzuki, Ganganagar, Bangalore, can you please tell me what all have they given you? I have recieved-
1. Insurance paper
2. Medical kit
3. Tax invoice
That's all.
Aren't we supposed to get a total invoice? Like a bill which describes all the accessories that have been added to the bike etc? Please help, the sales guy is very vague in his answers.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
That's not a problem with the bike, but with the person washing. We tend to wash the engine at a high pressure causing some water to enter the spark plug gap. This renders it useless until it dries up. Happens with most bikes. Using a good spark plug cap and avoiding pressure washing the engine and petrol tank helps.Originally posted by Siddharth Mehra View Postdoes newer models also have problem ,, where bike doesnt start after washGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hey folks,Originally posted by joelgreen View PostShould I opt for the FI variant? Because that's only available in Blue and I don't like that color because it's too mainstream TBH. The SP edition looks very unique in that Matte Grey colour and I love it for that simple reason! I'm confused!
Please enlighten me on whether the FI system does have a considerable amount of advantages over the Carburetted version!
AFAIK it might result in better mileage figures because of the more precise fuelling and I won't have to bother about cold starts or AFR screw settings, ever, thanks to the auto-choke feature.
Does it in any way, improve performance? The numbers on the spec sheet don't seem to suggest so.
I'd like to hear about the pros and cons of the system, whether the FI variant really is the one to die for, in this bike, since that's the one in question. I already know it makes sense opting for FI in bigger bikes (when carburreted options exist), but this is a relatively smaller capacity bike, hence, the dilemma.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
On the Gixxer the FI only improves Fuel Efficiency thats all. No bump in power. You wouldnt think twice before opting for an R15 if you had the choice so theres no reason to think twice before opting for Gixxer FI. But yes considering this is India, there is definitely one thing to understand. If you are a fan of getting your bike serviced by Local mechanics after the warranty period is over, you might run into non compliance from them since they have absolutely no knowledge or tools to work on a Fuel Injected system.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostHey folks,

Yes, if you can find an original one designed for your bike. As for the cost, it will be a minimum of 50kOriginally posted by suvam234 View PostSo i saw some videos of bikes with akrapovic exhaust.and i loved the sound of that exhaust..
So is it a good option to replace my sf's stock exhaust with the akrapovic exhaust? And how much will it cost?
Tricks? Do you know what a Warranty is?Originally posted by presidency View PostExtended warranty is shit.....the showroom guys tricks bike owners to pay for extended warranty but it is of no use. You'll see.
Also if your bike doesnt get any structural or functional issues then ofc warranty will not be claimed.Last edited by MotoBlizzard; 10-25-2016, 09:11 PM.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hey guys, I have the carburetted double disc version of gixxer sf. I'm looking to increase the performance. How much gain can I expect in acceleration, top speed, power and torque figures if I go for a k&n filter along with carburettor rejetting?Last edited by docprashant; 10-25-2016, 11:08 PM.

Zero to be frank. But what you'll get is shortened engine life w.r.t stock.Originally posted by docprashant View PostHey guys, I have the carburetted double disc version of gixxer sf. Better throttle response(not sure if its noticable on the SF)
Increase in mileage(again probably a small figure),
Possibly better performance at high altitudes.
Cons:
If you run out of fuel a few times your fuel pump may get spoilt.
Comparatively harder to fix/maintain if problems arise.
FI is probably not something to die for, a carb works pretty flawlessly on the bike. I'd still buy the FI version of the bike if it were available in another color when I bought mine (since it is an upgrade of sorts).

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
How can they steal petrol?! Our's is a faired bike, the tube itself isn't visible! No one is gonna twist and contort their hand from the front gap to steal petrol, unless you've parked it up a mountain pass or a forest and there's no one around!Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostAdding to this, difficult to steal petrol from an FI bike, unless someone manages to break the fuel cap itself.
Regards.
UPDATE: Got first service done, gave the bike in the morning at 9, got it by afternoon 2. I guess less number of bikes as compared to other manufacturers, hence we get a speedy service
Bike is smoother now, he adjusted the clutch play so now it feels good. But still the gear lever is hard, inspite of telling them ! :/ Hopefully it'll smoothen over time.
I know the rate is bit more, coz I read previously in this thread that it's 500 bucks something, but I guess it's the addition of that 3T additive which shot up the price. But it's on their recommendation, helps for a smoother engine running, so I don't mind.Last edited by vishandy2k; 10-26-2016, 07:53 PM.
