hi xbhp members i am a new to xbhp
i bought my gixxer sf last month and odo 1020 and completed first service at 755kms
i have some issues i hope u people can solve as i don't have belief in service centers in Hyderabad.

bike sound like whistle when i close accelerator at higher rpms and bike sound changes after 4.5k rpm is it normal in all bikes ?

Disk, both front and rear disk making noise while moving, service center guy cleaned brake pads and fitted back but sound did not go but braking is good

Recently when i throttle quickly for fast acceleration and changed gears fast at 4th gear i heard a Metal rubbing sound after that today my friend rode for 15kms and he changed gears at low RPMs and run the bike in lower rpms at higher gears in traffic say 25kmph at 4th gear like that and every time he went to lower speeds and higher gears the sound is coming i heard 3 to 4 times after that i took the bike and rode normally and i feel that while changing gears there is metal rubbing at 3rd and 4th gears.
what is happening actually eleminate this as i am new to biking any suggestions welcome and also suggest me good service centers in hyderabad
    thank you in advance

He was lugging the engine. Shift at around 3.5-4k rpm.

Don't worry, don't lug the engine again.

Also don't let your friend ride[emoji13].

To my previous post abt the seat, actually any seat cover/helmet shop can do it. Just ask him to add extra foam for comfort. He'll do it.

Please let me know if anyone has sold your old bike to the showroom and bought the new bike. I have lot of doubts regarding ownership transfer certificates and stuff. Please reply, I shall msg you personally.

                      Are you serious??
Even my cbr150 doesn't give higher than 45 kmpl on highways

I mean I'm done going easy on the bike. I don't have the patience to complete the run-in anymore! Maybe I just want to test how robust Suzuki engines are! :P

Thanks for the sympathy. And hearing the mileage, please sell your bike to me. The highest my CBR 150R returned when riding between 60-80kmph on the highway on my Bangalore-Mumbai ride was 47 kmpl! :P

                            I can't do that, buddy. [emoji6]

The Bonda is playing real nice with me. Going to keep her until parts start falling off, or till I win a lottery.

The front tyre of my Gixx got cut in the accident and requires a replacement. The SVC people have recommended to go with a better tyre since the insurance company will admit the claim for the same as per their prior experience. Any suggestions?

I'm considering the following options :-

                              1) Michelin Pilot Street Radial - A reputed and trusted tyre that needs no introduction on this forum. The only issue is, it isn't available in the stock size of 100/80. Is 110/80 doable? Apart from speedo error and a slightly taller front end, is there anything that should deter me from slamming this on?

                              2) Pirelli Sport Dragon - I'm not aware of how good this tyre is. It is available in the 100/80 stock size, but if it's a cross-ply, I guess I'd stay off it, considering the rear is a radial. Please enlighten me if anyone has any knowledge/experience with this tyre.

                              3) Pirelli Diablo Rosso II - A reputed tyre for it's grip, and available in the stock 100/80 dimensions too. Any places in Mumbai/Thane I can procure this from?

I'm currently unaware of the prices of the said tyres in the market right now. If anyone has any knowledge of the same as well, kindly share it with me so I can take a call!

I'm running stock zapper in the front and pilot street radial at the rear. No issues at all. From what I've read, doing it the other way round may affect the stability.

Pilot street radial 110/70 should be an easy fit. Sidewall is slightly lesser than stock but it should be fine. Front will feel heavier though.

I'm not sure but I think Diablo Rosso is softer than the Michelin and it should be a good replacement if money isn't an issue.
