Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The front forks have taken a hit and bent, actually. Tadaa!Originally posted by de.das.dude View PostGlad to see you are okay! that looks horrendous.
Also, i noticed a lot of extra parts on that list that dont seem to require changing.
like : tree, front LH and RH fork assembly,
Disk assembly, etc.
But since its 10 days old, Its a good idea to have it all changed. I am surprised how cool you are.
You might have insurance but your premium and credibility will take a huge hit if they pay out. Make the f**cker pay as much as he can. If it were me, i would lodge a complaint immediately. Its totally his fault and he owes you a new bike.
And as I have already stated in a prior post, we will have to foot the bill ourselves as it isn't in our hearts to put his family through the stress of funding as they already had to blow up about a lac for his operation and were struggling to get the money together.
If it were him suffering alone, I'd probably sell his kidneys off to recover my dues but I visited him at the hospital and his entire family was there, worried and ill-at-ease. They don't deserve to pay for his mistakes, but well, unfortunately, this time around, I do.
My dad will be collecting the bike tomorrow evening. After 3 weeks and 4 days!
P.S. I got a Michelin Pilot Street radial installed at the front through insurance!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Rode to Shetihalli Church. . 210 kms one way.
Seriously this is a shockingly stable bike on the highways. The fairing does help big time. I was riding with a Bullet 500, a T'Bird 350 and an RX135. The RX135 was the surprise. Clocking 110 - 120 consistently, but requiring lot of bottles of oil.
And ofcourse the SF. I was easily cruising at 85-90, and even when I was at 100, had enough power to overtake the lorries and etc.. and the wind blast is not as much. Because, I took turns riding the RX.. I could feel lot of frontal and sideways wind hitting me. Plus it was raining slightly so the winds were heavy.. I am thankful for buying this. For cruising at 80-90 and for long hauls, this is perfect. Also, the extra foam helped. Didn't feel butt ache

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
to all friends, I need some info about suzuki gixxer sf & am looking for a bike suited to touring.
1) In top gear, at what rpms it does 80 km/hr, 90 km/hr and 100 km/hr?Kindly reply with rpm and speed.
2) What fuel efficiency one can expect by consistently riding at 90-100 km/hr at 5th gear on highways?
3) Is the windblast tolerable at 100km/hr?
Help me. You can reply in this thread or PM me or you can reply in my "what bike" thread - "A bike only for Touring under a budget of 1 lakh to 1.7 lakh rupees""If you care enough for a result, you will most certainly attain it."

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The stock headlamp in Gixxer is extremely dull
, so I need some replacement suggestions. I am not looking for those higher wattage (60/55W) bulbs but the recommended 35W ones as I don't want to end up messing up with the Stator Coil / Electrical and I don't want the white / blue 4000K+ colour temperature ones. Has anyone tried any HS1 / H4 type 35W yellow bulbs (Philips / Osram etc) with a better throw and brightness than the stock?
Amazon / Flipkart or Snapdeal links are welcomed

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Can someone please help with a problem
Lately my bike has giving a issue.
Say if i am riding on 25 on 3rd and let go of the throttle and while throttling up again while rolling in speeds i feel a jerk from the engine as if a gear has changed. Its gives a rush something like a bunny hopping everytime i let go off throttle and resume it.
Its just for that one jerk only then its normal again.
Its felt on 3rd 4th 5h gear.
Has anybody any idea?
And yes my bike is 1.5 years old, she gets her proper Servicing in regular intervals and i know how she should behave so please don't say it's how it's supposed to be.
Also can someone share the price of throttle and clutch cable?
And can only the exclusive cable has to be used or any other cable would suffice?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
One Of The Reasons For The Jerking could be a bad airfilter. Can you try to remove the airfilter(or swap one from another gixxer) and ride it for a couple of km to see if the issue persists?Originally posted by debargha.kit2 View PostCan someone please help with a problem

Another possibility could be a bad throttle cable or a dirty carb jets or the slide(if present). But first check the airfilter.. And if the issue goes away without the airfilter then simply replace the filter if not get the cable checked(adjusted, lubed) and carb cleaned out.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
hello all
anyone come across this issue
while changing gears, after shifting up, the gear not shifting immediately but after slight depressing the clutch(say 30% of clutch play) it is shifting to next gear
due to this if i want to make fast shifting, the gear is stucking for sometime and shifting up. At this time i am getting metal rubbing sound from gear box
if anybody having this issue please tell me how to overcome this
and recently bike get vibrations while decelerating at and around 4.5k RPM my bike coverd only 1900kms and first service done at 750kms
thanks in advanceLast edited by Prasad Vogooru; 12-07-2016, 05:24 PM.
