Hi, though not an active member since joined I do read posts here.

I booked Gixxer SF FI variant few days back and the dealer told me he would change the color of bike if I want to. I like the SP version color though he agreed he can do it if I pay Rs1200 more, he also said that it is failure color and he's having hard time selling the bike in that color. He gave all the lecture(mostly bad) about the matte color.

Do you guys think its good to get the SP color on FI variant for the extra amount(I still kind of like the new color than the regular Moto GP blue)? and any cons in Matte color ?(other than being extra cautious)

I suffer from no brake fade on my double disc gixxer sf. Done plenty of 500+kms trips on it, at constant speeds of 100+.
With a solo rider, the rear disc locks easily, even on perfect roads at low speeds.
With a pillion on board, it works like a charm.

The color is purely subjective mate
Its upto you if you'll invest for colors
As far as matte and gloss is concerned
I have a blue sf for 1 and a half year now and it attracts dust like anything and moreover its prominent on the glossy color
Where as a matt color (judging on a apache) is more likely to hide dusts

Guys I had a problem today while driving at 80kmph suddenly my bike suddenly started to jerk and breath out as if there is no gas but if I was driving below 5k rpm it was normal, any idea what might be causing the problem.?

You were doing 80 but you were below 5k RPM? Thats strange. Did you have enough fuel in the tank? Did you shift the fuel intake knob to reserve in case you were very low on fuel?

The dealership cannot change the color of the SF FI MotoGP blue as that is the only version of it. If hes saying he can do that then it means he will be replacing all the body panels, not sure whether it includes the Tank cover and side frame covers under the grabrails. Also the MotoGP blue FI has an FI badge on the front headlight panel. Moreover the MotoGP blue paint costs more than the rest of the colors that SF has to offer. From the information you have provided it seems the dealership isnt providing you with reimbursement for replacing the Blue with other lower costing colored fairings.

IMO hes trying to rip you off, think about it before you make your final decision.

Check below your seat if anything is blocking the airflow to your air filter. If not get your air filter cleaned! 👍

Yes he'll be replacing the body panel. I'll ask if he can also get the fi badge on it.
I'm not sure about the price of paint. Wouldn't matte finish cost more than the glossy finish ? I'm not sure though.

Another possibility could be a bad throttle cable or a dirty carb jets or the slide(if present). But first check the airfilter.. And if the issue goes away without the airfilter then simply replace the filter if not get the cable checked(adjusted, lubed) and carb cleaned out.

Lately my bike has giving a issue.
Say if i am riding on 25 on 3rd and let go of the throttle and while throttling up again while rolling in speeds i feel a jerk from the engine as if a gear has changed. Its gives a rush something like a bunny hopping everytime i let go off throttle and resume it.
Its just for that one jerk only then its normal again.
                  Its felt on 3rd 4th 5h gear.
                  Has anybody any idea?
And yes my bike is 1.5 years old, she gets her proper Servicing in regular intervals and i know how she should behave so please don't say it's how it's supposed to be.

Also can someone share the price of throttle and clutch cable?
And can only the exclusive cable has to be used or any other cable would suffice?

I got my bike first service done on monday and yes I have few things under seat after that, I will remove that from the seat and see. Thank you so much for your advice.

The air filter intake is under the seat so if u keep anything under it, it will block the air flow. Thats why u get jerks at higher speeds.

Sorry for not explaining it precisely,Strange indeed! Allow me to explain "this problem occured when I was driving at 80kmph and then after this problem,I slowed down, changed gears and then did some testing mostly after 5k the jerk or burr burrr burr sound started. And fuel is not issue for sure, I checked and yes I changed the fuel knob to reserve when this happened but no luck"

Take it to the SVC and get your carb setting checked. Also get the spark plug checked. What I meant previously was you cannot be doing 80kmph and be at 5000rpm or below unless you are going downhill.

*ERM* remove the stuff from under the seat and check again. I had the exact same problem because the air filter wasn't getting enough air post 5k rpm, got jerks even at 92kmph. Air filter was clogged for me, but since u have things under your seat its obstruction air flow.

I've been looking for the service workshop manual for gixxer sf or gixxer 155. Tried searching here and on the internet but could not locate. It would great if someone can share a link of the workshop manual.

                            Thanks,

Bro don't change the body panels. Blue one looks so damn good. Especially the new one with updated graphics. Matt paint doesn't attract as much dust as gloss. One wipe with a smooth dry cloth will do. But, it is a scratch magnet. Even the clip on your helmet is enough to put a scratch on it. The dealer is trying to con you I am sure. It is his problem if he can't sell the SP variant. And what guarantee that he'll bolt everything as tightly?! Be careful bro.

Thanks bro. Honestly I felt the same. No offence but personally I didn't like the sp variant color in flesh. So went with blue.
I have a strong feeling this dealer(Pramaan Suzuki Chennai) is trying to rip me off. They're saying that I have to pay another ₹1200 @ RTO while registeration for some online fees and affidavit. They asked to pay to them but I denied n said I would pay at RTO itself of necessary.

The worst part is they alloted my bike without an intimation eventhough I had told them several times earlier i would select the bike myself. I had to find out only when I went to make payment yesterday. I did check the bike and couldn't find any mistake and had a short test ride on it too.
Didn't take delivery yet. Will be taking it tomorrow 1st day of the year. Is there anything to check specifically other than PDI before delivery ?
