The service guy asked me to come after 750 to 1000 km or 30 days for first service.

Feeling really excited about this awesome machine.
Congratulations on your new ride mate . I really know the feeling when its your first ride as I got mine 2.5 months back. As for the first service, it depends on how much you ride. I couldn't finish the 750 KM mark and went to the SVC when it was 300 km on odo, but its alright. Just get your service done within the schedule. The service manual already covers the few things you need to keep in mind for optimum break in so just go through it completely. Stick to the RPM limit (if possible set the shift indicator to 3500-4500 RPM as a reminder), don't maintain constant RPM as the manual says to avoid glazing, prefer smoother rides and not being harsh on your ride (smooth throttle and gear action), breakin your tyres properly for the first 150 KMS as the manual says. As for service guys not going things efficiently, it really depends on your location and the specific SVC. Try to stay with your bike when they are servicing it. The 1st service is mostly about oil & oil filter change, chain lubing and brief inspection. If you have any issues do mention it to get it checked / fixed when they prepare your job sheet. Wear your gears and have a safe and enjoyable ride

Anyone booked or planning to book SF FI this month ? I went to dealer and they said I won't be get 2017 make untill March. So is it true ? Or the dealer is just trying to clear last month's stock?.

And look out for burning smell or extreme heating
          And
The problem will not arise after riding roughly for an hour or so or won't eat through that much engine oil in a short span
So either you had low engine oil from the beginning or you might want to look for leakage
Apologies for the late response. I checked the oil level two days later when the engine was cold (again, mounted on the center stand with the front wheel touching the ground), and this is what I saw :

Last night, after the same commute, I checked the oil level in the manner specified by leech above, and the oil level was between the center and the L-line. The ASC personnel said the level is alright and there's no shortage of oil. Shall go through the manual and make a thorough inspection during my second service that will fall due in 2 weeks as per my riding schedule.

And a couple of bikers say you shouldn't check the oil with the bike on center stand. You'll need to put it on the side stand and tilt it straight.
Yes, I had waited for about 2 minutes after the engine was shut off. Your mentioned method of checking the oil seems fine, I'll run through the manual to confirm if that's how it's done, just to be sure.

Just because you dont see oil in the window doesnt mean its burning off oil. Check the window when after resting the bike for 15mins. But yes there is slight deficiency of oil which you should get topped up. You must be close to your second service now so get it thoroughly checked at the SVC. Also try staying with your bike during the service, take the day off and make sure they are going through all the maintenance checks.
The way stuff is going, I'll have to be present at the 2nd service. The ASC guys are very ignorant and not trained well. I'll make it a point to take the day off and supervise the service throughout. I've asked them to order and use the Motul oil that came with the bike from the factory instead of the Idemitsu oil that they used in the first service. In case they get lazy and 'forget' to do so, which exact Motul 10W40 oil should I opt for?

Motul has only 1 10w40 in the 300V series which costs around 1k. Try either 7100 10w40 or 5100 15w50.

I have used motul 300 v 10w40 (not yet tested on gixxer by suzuki). Improved engine smoothness and gear shifts but gave some negetive results like slow pickup, drop in pickup, grunt sound vibrations, eng heating after riding 900kms.

I changed to 7100 10w40 fully synthetic (Rs.850) as its recommended by suzuki.
Improved results same as 300v and no negetive effects till now. There is another one named Idemitsu fully synthetic oil available at svc costing Rs.350 approx, but i went for motul.

Note: 300v recommended for high displacement bikes. Tested by me on gixxer as it doesnt meet the requirement of MA and JASO specs.....

Yes it's true. New batch for 2017 will come on March. I couldn't wait that long so got the September batch fi

Motul by Suzuki 10W40 is the mineral oil comes prefilled with the bike. Motul 300v, 7100 are full synthetic oil and 5100 is semi synthetic.

Motul by Suzuki 10W40 is not stocked at svc's instead they have only Idemitsu 10w40 semi synthetic oil. If you need the one that came with the bike, try to source it from other multi brand spares/automobile stores they may have it. I got it for my friend from JC road in Bangalore. The new price is 305 for a litre.

If at all you are unable to get hold of Motul by Suzuki 10w40, you may alternatively use Motul 3000 15W50 (please note it is three thousand and not 300) this is Mineral oil and not synthetic and is priced around 320 for a litre.

                      Cheers,

                        Hello There,

Since I have already changed my stock air filter to K&N R1100, Previously was using RC 1060 with stock exhaust, (SUZUKI GIXXER SF 4200KMS Completed)

Well I think bike has all messed up,

First of all I'm loosing power constantly sometimes around 4-5k RPM Sometimes around 7-8k RPM While revving the acceleration is even not that much smooth and crisp and engine struggles after 80 all hiccups

I got my carb tuned (The Fuel Screw) in svc with tachometer and all stuff and even I tried to tune it but I seriously have no idea what's wrong here have ordered a ngk spark plug and cr5 ignition coil already but need to fix this issue asap!

As well please tell me the stock main jet size of gixxer sf,

What should I do please suggest?

                        Thanks!

True that. I have seen enough bikes f**ked up after using these so called performance enhancing K&N filters.
