Be sure to mention about the "recommended from the club"Originally posted by debanjant View PostSeriously. Fed up of Animesh Suzuki. Their attitude is very bad. I shall go to Barasat for my next service then.
They will take outmost care
On the flip side do go with time on your hand they will take around 2 hours just on your bike

It's used to adjust the cam-chain tension.Originally posted by Tloren View PostJust out of curiosity
What is the function of the silver part? And is it supposed to be spewing out air at every combustion?
If you're really interested in motorcycle-parts(esp the one you own) you can refer to the spare-parts-catalogue shared few pages back and lookup on internet for more info.Last edited by Freak inExile; 06-12-2016, 07:58 PM.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Guys!
i use motul 7100 20W50 oil and its run for a full tank of fuel, i have got 40kmpl with hard riding!
This time i filled up with Shell V power and the instant i turned the bike on(i was riding for half an hr on the expressways when i rant out) the engine noise changed!
Performance is so much smoother and the engine definitely likes the higher octane rating! I would recommend it. But is it worth the 80Rs per litre? only time will tell

I think it would've been a better experience with Motul 7100 10w40 and Shell V-Power.Originally posted by de.das.dude View Posti use motul 7100 20W50 oil...

depends. 20w50 is thicker. and more suited for higher temperatures and longer periods of riding as it takes longer to get hotter. Since temperatures dont fall below Zero here, there is no problem at all. Check the manual if you dont agree.
also since it is thicker, it makes shifting gears feel better as well.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi Guys,
A friend is interested in getting a new bike who is in chennai, he asked me a couple to questions. I just need advise from yo guys.
1.) He would like to know whether we will be able to fit R15 fairing on suzuki gixxer or gixxer sf. If not, also suggest any other fairing or front doom light can be modified/fit on gixxer/gixxer sf. What will be the mileage of sf rear disk variant. As he is not okay with the sf front doom
2.) What will be mileage of the bike after one year
3.) Has anyone tried fitting ABS to gixxer/sf. If so what will be cost of fitting of ABS on both the wheels.
4.) I also have a plan to buy normal gixxer, since it gives more mileage than sf. So can i fit sf fariing to the naked bike,. So what is the cost and will the mileage get decreased if I fit on a fariring.
Thanks in advance for your advise.

Tell him to buy another bike if he doesn't like the fairing
Styling is a personal taste and if he is not happy with this he should buy the one he likes.
2.
The milage depends on how you maintain your bike
Its irrelevant that how much will the bike give you after a year
For me i get 45+ after a year and it was the same 6 months before and it will remain the same as long as i dont tune the settings
But it depends on your roads and riding style
3.refer to point 1
Want a dual channel abs? Go for a cbr 250
Attaching a abs is not a childs play and it will cost you a few kidneys
4.both the gixxer and sf share the same engine and both returns same milage
The milage differs due to to roads and tuning settings
Please do a bit research on the bike rather than aftermarket thoughts even before buying the bike
They follow after you buy a bike
Its a perfectly capable bike in its own regards but the things you want isn't here so better if you go for a bike that has them by default
Hope that has answered the questions

What's the average distance you travel per start(without stopping)?Originally posted by de.das.dude View Postdepends. 20w50 is thicker. and more suited for higher temperatures and longer periods of riding as it takes longer to get hotter. Is it over 100 kms?
If it's(average ride per start) below 30 kms I would even switch to 10w30 grade. Then again not to forget finer oil constituents of fully-synths seeping through crankcase-gasket.
Besides, gixxer is city commuter; with no over-gear it's a stressed tourer.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
