    Thats not a problem. Have u heard about motoman method of break in the engine? Crossing rpm limit for some duration is not an issue problem is riding on a constant rpm for long duration. I have ridden my bike upto 90's before 1st service and even after 4 years and 35k kms engine is untouched

      Yeah i did the motoman method on my activa 3G last year and iam getting 42 kmpl in very very heavy traffic so i know its in someway good for engine to rev. up but iam just worried of the abuse. Guy riding it from godown to showroom will have to ride it from Bhiwandi to Ghatkopar and its around 30 kms and this is the big reason iam worried. Lets hope they get too many orders and my bike comes with the lot. Hoping for best. But just want to know is there anything that i can do from my side (if my bike is the only one and has to be ridden by some random guy).

        You could ask them if you can take the delivery from the godown itself.

          all the bikes are rough handled while loading and unloading bikes from trolly so dont worry its done with all the bikes. do necessary checks before taking delivery, scratches, handlebar bends, oil level odo meter most imp documents. they should give u temp registation number and insurance at the time of delivery.

            I am facing the same disc sound now, but it was not there before raised after few km run after 1st service, so this issue can raise at any time, but i am not worried much as long as braking is perfect. but will check abt this in second service as i am facing many issues dont worry none of them are to be worried execpt two issues low mileage and engines high noise like running roughly.

              Hey folks!
              I ditched my mind and followed my heart, that is to say, I chose the Gixxer SF SP Edition over the FI variant. Made the full-payment this Thursday (October 27th) and collected the bike from Kiran Suzuki in Thane the next evening (October 28th). As suggested by a few people here, I inspected the bike prior to it's registration and made the payment only when I was convinced that the bike was genuinely good and no visual defects were present.
              It took me half an hour of thinking at the showroom on the 27th, because by then, both the Blue FI variant and the SP Edition seemed to have their own charm! The SP Edition is the rather unique one so I picked it up instead.
              I inspected the bike once before taking delivery too, she seemed alright. The guys there filled barely a litre of petrol in the tank.
              By now I have completed 123 kilometres on the Odo. Here are my initial impressions :-

              1) Refinement : I realised what refinement is when I test rode the naked and faired Gixxers. I was expecting the engine on my new bike to be fairly more rough since it was yet to be run-in (as was my experience when I changed the engine block and piston on my CBR), but the engine is so smooth already! Really impressive!

              2) Looks : I parked the Gixx behind my CBR 150R and it does look beefier and more muscular from some angles than the Ceeber. Something I really did not expect! I'm pleasantly surprised.

              3) Comfort : TBH, the seat could've and should've been wider. It will take some getting used to, but the SF is so damn comfy! The upright stance did make my back pain a bit since I was used to the CBR where a fair amount of my body weight was borne by my wrists. But I'm getting used to it, and loving it!

              4) Handling : I was used to filtering through traffic on my CBR, and the clip-ons didn't jut out too much, hence I managed filtering the bike through dense B2B traffic. This is probably just because I'm new to the Gixxer, but the wide handlebar and wide-set RVMs do make it difficult to filter through traffic. Maybe once I get used to it and gain the right judgement this issue will vanish!

              5) Performance : Obviously since the bike is under run-in, I haven't crossed the 4.5k RPM mark yet and this means I cannot exceed 60-62 kmph in the 5th gear. However, the bike performs extremely well in B2B traffic! Acceleration and braking are hassle free and quick unlike the CBR, whose bad low-end torque required a lot of clutch and throttle action just to get the bike to move a little! I'm super-happy with the bike's performance in B2B traffic. This is one of the reasons I bought the bike, she doesn't mind puttering around in traffic unlike the CBR who prefers rather empty roads.

              6) Others : I love the soft, sweet, mild and somewhat whistling sound of the SF. Commutes and tours will be a breeze aboard the bike is what I feel. The headlamp could be stronger and the seat-height is a little tall for me. The display console could come with a temperature bar too and the windscreen could be taller to offer wind-protection to the rider as well. But, overall, the bike is a great one to have and I can't wait to get done with the run-in and have some more fun with her! Here's a few pictures :-

              Sorry about the bad click quality. I've been too much into riding this bike in these past 2 days to be patient with clicking pictures! There's more pictures coming, better ones.

              I am, however, happy with my decision of buying this bike over the FI variant. I don't know much of the benefits I did part with, but this bike does look really good and I can't help but glance at it every time I'm around it. And there's the saying, "If you don't take a second look at your motorcycle while walking away from it, you probably bought the wrong bike." Heck, I seem to have bought just the right bike!
              I know it's just been 2 days, but the colour is so soothing, the matte finish makes it look amazing. I don't regret my decision, and isn't that all that matters? The satisfaction! Cheers!

                Ya regarding the RVM jutting out, generally we open the stocks as wide as possible.. Try not to pull out the stocks all the way out. Means, the angle between the stocks should be minium. Then, twist the mirror out a bit more. Hence, you'll get a good view of the traffic behind, and, the stacks won't protrude out of the bike much.
                The engine noise when you pull in the clutch to change gear, wow! It's like some intake noise in some tuned car!

                But yesterday I was inside a closed parking lot, here I miss the RTR with it's K&N! One throttle Blip and the sound booms and Echoes across the lot! Hehe

                  [MENTION=72810]joelgreen[/MENTION] the wide rvms are not a serious issue once you get used to them. I have not had a single unintended contact with any vehicles on the rvms ( sold my fz before getting this).

                  In most aspects, this bike feels like a 10%upgrade over the fz16✌

                    Thanks, mate! I wanted a unique looking motorcycle, so opted for this variant, and I'm glad I did.

                    About the RVMs, I haven't opened them too wide (refer the picture below), but yes, I've yet to push the arms in and turn the mirrors outward. Shall do it today.

                    Speaking of clutches, although the gear shifts are clunky (thanks to the new engine), I NEVER found myself in any false neutrals! I love how gear changes are so precise! I do get this feeling that the gear shift wasn't completely executed at times when I don't hear the 'click' sound, but I look down at the speedo and the gear number is promptly there, hehe! I still end up changing a gear and putting it back in the same gear to confirm. I have trust issues. xD

                    I'm planning on getting the following accessories in due course of time :-

                    1) Tankpad - Hopefully Suzuki has a transparent one so the checkered design on the tank isn't concealed. If not, I might consider a Keiti branded one. Any other suggestions would be well appreciated!

                    2) A custom matte grey Rear-seat cowl from Autologue Design - IMHO it doesn't look too good, but yes, since I'm going to use this bike for a good while for commutes, weekends and tours, I might as well spend a bit on aesthetics. At 3k INR, it is fairly overpriced, but it's a one-time expense.

                    3) I will get the windscreen coated matte black in a few weeks. I wish they had taller aftermarket windscreens for the SF. I'd be glad to invest in one if it were available within the 3k INR price bracket. AFAIK there are no options in the market right now. Enlighten me if I'm wrong! I'll be glad to be proved wrong here!

                    4) I'd like some suggestions on a more powerful headlamp bulb. The stock is decent, but is severely underpowered on the highways at night, especially on wet roads.

                    5) Handlebar grips - These aren't much of a necessity I guess. But well, if they look decent, and enhance comfort a little, why not?

                    6) Ride-on-Air seat - For the love of touring!

                    Any other accessories I should consider investing in? Let me know. I'm down to get the best out of this motorcycle. It's my first brand-new vehicle!

                    P.S. I'm not looking to replace any air filters, exhausts and other performance parts. The bike is a great performer in the stock avatar itself. The only upgrades I'd consider would be rear-sets and legit Suzuki clip-ons. I didn't like the mod with the RE Continental GT clip-ons. It adds limitations to the bike, limitations I would rather not have.
                    Let's see where this bike takes me! I'm excited!

                      I believe I just have to get used to it too. It'll be absolutely fine once I do! I can't wait to finish the run-in! I've never been this careful with a bike before, atleast I never believed I could be that careful! 😂

You cannot extend the windshield even if you wanted to. Try turning the handlebar and you will understand why.

                            Did anyone upgrade to a projector headlamp and using it for a long time without any problem? For me, i do very less night rides, but when i do the stock lamp is useless

                              1) Budget restrictions. My parents aren't willing to shell out the cash for an R15 at all.
                              2) I'm buying this to make commutes more comfy. I can get used to an R15 but I'd rather have this kind of comfort.
                              3) The Gixx has a considerably better fuel efficiency for the shortfall in power and torque as compared to what the R15 makes.
                              4) Maintenance costs are somewhat lesser on the Gixx.

                              The Gixx was chosen keeping practicality in mind. If I had my way out, I'd definitely be riding an R15S right now, but the benefits of owning a Gixxer (cheapest faired bike, better FE, lower maintenance cost, comfortable riding ergonomics etc.) are of more utility to me right now than the perks of the R15 (sharp looks, aggressive seating posture that is more engaging and adds to cornering capabilities, higher power and torque etc.).
                              I don't attack corners everyday or do track days every other weekend (I've never done track days actually and probably won't for a long time. :P). I don't need the better acceleration or power because I'm not racing against traffic or doing top speed runs everyday. I don't need the clip-ons or rear-sets as the bike is great the way it is, however, I do slightly desire them once in a while, no biggie. What I do need, is a good FE, comfy ride to and from work, and for that purpose, a lower cost of ownership is always welcome. However, bearing in mind that the bike has to suffice my weekend leisurely and spirited riding requirements, the sporty touch is needed as well! And hence, I bought the Gixxer SF. Because this time, it was all a game of getting the best I could with the limitations I have.

                                I have met some people who have had a bad breakin result and they sold off their bikes. In such a scenario you wanna keep the bike mint and not spend on accessories.

                                Your commutes wont be comfy if you replace the lowsets with rearsets and Touring handle with clipons. Give it a thought

                                R15 actually gives better and consistent fuel mileage than the Gixxer.

                                The Gixx was chosen keeping practicality in mind. You are negating that with your 2nd reason for not buying R15. If its something you desire once in a while will you be reverting the handlebars and the lowsets each time you are content with your desire?
