Please please don't put K&N or any other filter. Coming from an RTR160 which had a K&N, I too miss the sound a lot! But, it screws up the engine. Trust me, after a year, I removed the filter again just to check, and I was amazed at the pull the bike was giving. Maybe I had not done the upjetting properly. But still, it's not worth it man. The sound might increase, but I feel the stock sound of the Gixxer itself is pleasant, with good Bass, without being too loud. It's good for long rides, as, the sound is present, but not intrusive. When I use to go for long rides with the RTR, I used to get kind of irritated on the return journey, what with that K&N filter constantly droning under my thighs! Full headache!
The problem is the Filter sucks in more dirt than is required, coz the pore openings are larger, and hence damages the engine cylinder!
Anyways this is just my advice, do what you wish. Don't regret later that's all. Cheers

I meant in general FI bikes, not specifically Gixxer SF.

      Thanks.

But yes considering this is India, there is definitely one thing to understand. If you are a fan of getting your bike serviced by Local mechanics after the warranty period is over, you might run into non compliance from them since they have absolutely no knowledge or tools to work on a Fuel Injected system.
I'm not the kind that trusts local mechs with my bikes. I prefer getting them serviced at the authorised service centers, because that's where they're supposed to be serviced to keep them in the best of their health. Owning an FI bike shouldn't be a problem in this regard.
The question is, is the FI system really that game changing? How much gain are we talking about in terms of fuel efficiency? Because I and all the peeps at home don't seem to like the looks of the MotoGP Blue on the FI variant. Given that the SP Edition looks unique and way better to our eyes (mine and those of the peeps at home), I'm planning on settling for it instead. Irrational, yes. But hey, the heart wants what it wants.

Possibly better performance at high altitudes.
          Cons:
If you run out of fuel a few times your fuel pump may get spoilt.
Comparatively harder to fix/maintain if problems arise.

FI is probably not something to die for, a carb works pretty flawlessly on the bike. I'd still buy the FI version of the bike if it were available in another color when I bought mine (since it is an upgrade of sorts).
Well, if the benefits of FI aren't going to be very noticeable, I'm headed for the SP Edition!
I need someone to confirm if the benefits are considerably large. That might tip me over towards the FI variant. As I've admitted above, I know this is fairly irrational, but hey, it is a mind v/s heart battle.

Won't I have to tamper with the wiring for that? That would void my warranty!

I have claimed warranty twice. One for the instrument console and one for the rear brake line.

              Eventually you will understand.

Its always best to check the bike for flaws, kms run and any scratches etc before delivery/registration. By making a full payment you give them permission to register your bike after which you will have to stick to it whether you like it or not. I suggest you take a good look at the bike (if possible) before you make any payment and have it registered in your name, if not have them assure you that you'll be receiving a brand new factory piece without any flaws and that you'd like to examine it before it's sent for registration. 👍

when i bought my bike i tried for black but that svc guy tried to repair the damaged bike and sellto me, but i was accompanied by my friends and brothe who warned me about cheating so i went to the godown and found many broken black sf there i asked why he said black sf are rare so we have no choice i immediatly changed my decision and checked three motogp edition bikes and selected one. in this way i was saved.

Every owner will face that issue in the beginning. It will go away after first service. Sound from the front disc is more concerning.

Iam just concerned about one thing how does svc guys get the bikes from godown to showroom and how do these guys ride if they just bring a single bike (iam very much in an impression they trash ride the bike) and if this is truth what can i do , as the guys will cross 4500 rpms and which is i think very bad for the bike.
