Like I mentioned. The person you had a chat with is actually a Customer Service Rep. They usually dont have sufficient knowledge regarding technicalities of specific products.

But then again I believe Suzuki India themselves dont seem to know what they are saying sometimes. All we can depend on is Evidence by Trial.

My request to you, if you can talk to your Area manager about this and ask him, let me know what he says about this. The person I had a chat with was my Area manager. Also if you Email Suzuki India, an official rep will call you back not a Customer service rep. Hence I have verbal evidence from 2 official reps stating that you cannot use any other oil except Motul 10w40 mineral and Idemitsu SS.

PS: I did some digging about Idemitsu. It turns out, its quite a reputable brand of Engine oil in the Automobile space. Based solely on that I am gonna put my trust in it. But I am definitely going to keep inquiring why the 7100 FS cannot be used in Gixxer. I understand very well its overkill for the bike but I just want to use it to increase the oil change interval. As far as 300V is concerned, its a track only oil meaning its actually not going to last as long as the 7100. Its meant to be changed soon after a single track session while providing superior engine protection since the engine will be under constant stress (higher revs)

You will have to buy it separately, request the dealer to give it for free.
I got it free of cost with the bike!

The best engine oil for bike is a never ending debate. What i think is you need to try yourself to know which is best for your bike. I know 300v is an overkill but it won't have any negative impact on the bike . I only used it as it was light on my pocket got it at the price of motul 5100 or else i wouldn't go for it, thats why i got 4 bottles of it. My major concern was long intervals for engine oil change and motul claims it should lasts as long as 8000km on a bike. May be 7100 is also an overkill but if you can spend such amount why not go for it. There is no such reason why 7100 should'nt be used, and as for the grading it is recommend to use only 10w40 but on the manual i found that if 10w40 isn't available one can use 15w40 , 15w50 and 20w40 in the manual there was a graph showing optimal temperature for various grades of oil for viscosity. Suzuki recommends motul but nowhere it said you can't use mobil or shell or Castrol.

Many people many say many thing. But its upto you and your requirement, its your bike and ultimately you have to decide whats best for it. What one will need is just a bit of research and some experimentation.

Great man not lucky as u,

Ok here the guys arent giving free so im not taking it. Also i want to know that i have covered 300+ kmps on odo and 10 days still left for 1st service, im thinking of attaching a 3rd party switch for turning off headlight as mine is the new bs4 model with aho ,
So, will it harm warranty ?
I'm asking this as many of you have also installed hazard light switch.
I asked the same to ASC they are saying warranty would be void if i install it, so is it true ?

One interesting thing to note is that if I try to drag the bike or rotate the wheel backwards it doesn't make the noise. Makes me wonder if reversing the sprocket would temporarily fix the noise/ vibes until we reach a proper solution. I don't have any other issue with the bike. So ya, do let us know of any update you reach with the engineer. For now I will wait for a few 100 kms to see if this reduces again. Else, I might just visit a local mechanic to loosen the chain a little.
Hey there, I'm also facing the same problem of noise after the 4 service. I observed the chain and it was very tight. I loosened it a little with the help of a local mechanic and lubed the chain and after that the noise has decreased. Now it sometimes makes that noise but very low when running.

I own a gixxer sf fi variant.. Today after riding for about 75kms in heavy rain i am getting a continuous annoying beeeeeeeeeep sound from my bike when the ignition is on. What might be possible reason for this sound? Is there anything to be worried of?
Is it low amplified continuous sound ?

                      Possible reason:

Do yo have a indicator buzzer installed? Sometimes water messes with the buzzer connection......due to pressure wash or riding in heavy rain.
It will go away when the bike develops enough heat or untill the water dries up.

If the problem persists, take to svc.

Yeah, i was told the same by the svc guys. The problem has been solved. It disappeared as i rode the bike for few kms. Anyway thanks for the input.

                          1. Can anybody explain me the FI or malfunction indicator indicator on instrumental panel?
Because i got the gixxer sf FI but im not able to understand it. Normally it comes on when i turn on the engine switch and goes off after riding the bike in first gear, but sometimes the FI indicator keeps on after long ride of about 30 minutes and doesnt goes off for long time.
                          2. Is it same for all FI model ?
I'm asking as i read in manual that if the FI or malfunction indiactor keeps on for long time than i need to immediately visit the ASC and get the fuel injection system inspected.

You better go get that checked out. It might be a simple loose connection or something much worse.

I have completed around 3500 kms on my gixxer SF and still struggling with little hard gear shifts. Few days ago I went to my relative who has a bike garage and he suggested me to use Castrol Active 4T 20W40 in the engine. Can anyone suggest what to do?
