Went to service center for a paid service after 13800 kms. Done general servicing n changed fork oil.
    Paid service: 350
    Fork Oil : 410

The svc guy said that they used motul fork oil and the forks requires a total of 4 bottles of oil. Is this correct?
Thats why they billed me 410 for only fork oil separately. The paid service charge is only mentioned in the computer generated bill

Can anybody tell me just how many variants are there of the Gixxer SF

Here in Jaipur the Suzuki dealers are quoting me OTR price of 1,05,000 for the Mira red Gixxer sf..

Note that above mentioned price is of the Gixxer with rear disc breaks. Is there a rear drum break variant in existence?

This would be my first motorcycle and quite a few people have warned me that rear disc break is not a good idea for 1st time rider . It skids alot. They said.

So should I opt for the drum break variant ( If that exists)

Seriously, how many variants does this bike have, it's ridiculous .

Actually NO, its not ridiculous if you looked on their website properly.

Drum brake variants were phased out quite a while back

You only get 2 variants, Carburetor and Fuel Injection - Rear Disc brake is standard on all cosmetic variants

        Full Black
        Full Red
        Full Blue
        Special Edition

They all are priced the same (atleast in my city)

The reason why red and black got priced the same as Blue is because the lower side panels are getting full solid color treatment instead of the previous half grey versions

You don't need to worry about that. I myself bought my first manual geared bike, Gixxer SF SP a month ago, after riding a Honda Activa for around 6 years. As mentioned above in previous posts(#2093, #2594, #3043), rear disc brake of Gixxers probably intentionally don't have too much bite in them.

Please do test ride before deciding on buying any bike.

          Welcome to biking.

Thanks for instilling the confidence in me , that rear disc wont be much of a headache!

I too am similar situation as you were, been riding an Activa since middle school , Gixxer hopefully would be my first bike.

Hey another thing, if its not too much can you tell me how much your bike costed OTR ?

All my local dealerships are quoting me 1.05.000 OTR . I was under the impression the bike was under 1lac , even acc. to sites like bikewale the OTR should be 94.5k

another thing, you think it would be worth to spend extra for the fuel injected version ?

                Ex showroom : 93209

                3 year warranty: 670

I alsp got 5k cash back by paying through paytm.

Moto GP SF and SF SP have both the same prices.

FI might be a good investment with slightly more mileage and comparatively better throttle response.

FI variant does not get a kick starter, thus dependent on only self start.

                  Hello guys....
I'm planning to buy new bike...
Buying a bike is never easy job.. After going through lot of forums sites i decided to buy Gixxer sf fi... Because of its killer looks and decent mileage and power..
As you all owners of Gixxer sf i just want to know few things from you...

                  1. How the pillion seat comfort, i know its a bit high.. is it ok for the ladies who sits with saree.
                  2. Is the ground clearance causing any problem?
3.how strong the front fairing and how much it would cost for minor falls?
4.is the power sufficient for the high way riding and shot tours 200-300km..
                  5. Please mention if there are any major problems

It really helpful for me if you share your experiences...

                  Thanks in advance......

i just have completed 1000 kms based on my first month ride

1.high seating position and small seat no way sitting one side "with comfort ". can be adjustable for very short distance ride
2.not much if u pay attention on steep speed breaks (my view not a big issue)
3.how strong... well its fibre or plastic u name as u like, i can't comment on cost check local svc
4.yep got descent power, some sweet spot between full sport and full comuter bike... can handle both situation descently
                    5. till now no big issues, test ride and choose wisely... ✌️

Hello Guys, Bought Gixxer sf black dual disk 3 days ago, amazing bike it is... I just had a little query that when I bought the bike it didn't had the sticker on the front fairing, and the dealer was ready to do the stickiring job, but I denied, because it was looking good that ways, Should I be concerned about this issue considering that it wasn't changed with any other bike or so... Also I completed 250 on odo, and so far got 38km mileage, is it good ??

                        Hi all,

                        Mileage update-
Purchased 20 days ago done full tank, started trip 1

                        Model: Gixxer sf fi

Distance run after full tank till first warning sign:
                        485kms
Expected fuel consumption ~ 10 litres

Really impressed considering its the mileage before first service.

Will update after service full tank to full tank mileage.

Stickering is nothing to be concerned about. It can be done anytime, its cheap to buy as well.

As for fuel mileage, did you calculate it using Full tank to full tank method? If not, then do that and get back with the result. Reserve method is inaccurate and unreliable. ALso what RPM range are you maintaining? What is your throttle input pattern (as in gradual, immediate or mixed)? Are you maintaining proper tire pressure? What is your daily commute pattern (as in light, moderate or heavy traffic)?

Hello!!! Thankyou for your reply, I'm on to the full tank method , did reserve last time... I'm precisely keeping the rpm b/w 4500-5000, and keep varying the throttle.

got my 2nd free service done last week, 2418km ridden(120days since purchase). paid 880 for Engine oil, AF,OF, chain clean/lube and additives. it's much easier to get the bike to neutral now and gear shift is a lot more smoother.
