As for the Gixxer '250', there's no official word, just a few leaked magazine scans. Eventually, Suzuki *will* launch an upgrade to the existing Gixxer series (very likely with rear disc brakes), but to be honest, nobody can confirm when that will happen. Again, the current SF is as good a bike as can be in the 150cc segment. Don't let the lack of a rear disc hold you back.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The thing is that I need an upgrade from my activa 3g .. The pick up is almost similar.. 0-100 favours sf .. Which I like so tgat i can use my bike in weekends.. But I don't see that difference between the engines.. My activa can do 80 all day.. Sf can do 100 all day with minimal wind blast.. So I'm seeking for more power..

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Even I got this bike as an upgrade from a 2004 activa (could do about 50 all day on the scooter xD).Originally posted by TheActivist View PostThe thing is that I need an upgrade from my activa 3g .. The front disc has good bite makes up for the rear brakes inadequacy. Ive only had mild locking on the rear wheel in an emergency braking situation on a wet road.
The comfort level for the rider is super good on the SF, better than my activa I would say!(but that's subjective).
Check out the 200AS( similar price range, but has its own ups and downs) or save up and look into the R15 or the D200.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Next year around June-July, when I will be looking around to buy something this will be on top of my list(if its released). I already feel like I have missed on the Inazuma.
The other contenders would be TNT 300, R3 and anything around 250+ CC released by Honda. Would also be looking for a good deal in the used market meanwhile.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I am hanging on to gixxer bcoz of the refinement it has..mine is a 3g activa.. which is Sooper smooth.. I'll be riding my next investment for 4-5 yrs.. If I go with any 150cc bike.. I will be searching for more power in less than a year..so I'm thinking to get a quarter litre bike... Yukk.. Pulsar.. Dat vibes .. Nop.. And I need sumthng above 20bhp under 150k.. The only light I see is on gsx 250Originally posted by Tloren View PostEven I got this bike as an upgrade from a 2004 activa (could do about 50 all day on the scooter xD).

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You just need to pull them and set in desired position.. no switch to do thisOriginally posted by Shaurya Negi View PostSorry a noob question here
How to fold the rear view mirrors? The mirrors cause a problem while filtering through traffic as well. Also if we fold the mirrors can we see from the mirrors?
And obviously you cannot see if you fold them.. so I personally would not advise to drive without view from rear-view mirrors.
I had other problem that after 2 weeks they got loose and hence was difficult to drive as view would change while driving. So I got them removed and fixed Gixxer-naked handle bar mirrors.

I changed the head lamp to LED which I ordered from Ali Express. After reading through earlier posts in this thread, I asked the local mechanic to install without any dis-assembly.. and he could manage to do it by just putting his hand from under the headlight and removing the existing bulb and fitting the new one.
All looked good, with upper-dipper and pass switch as well working, until I was driving in the evening with lights ON. I could see that PASS switch was no longer working, though the regular upper-dipper switch was working fine. After switching off the headlight, PASS switch was working again. So I realized that PASS switch is trying to throw low beam instead of high beam, so it had no effect when the headlights were in ON position as low beam was already ON. So is this issue with the bulb or the way mechanic connected it to the plug? If he has fit it to proper plugs, then I can visit him again and ask to fix.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Gixxer has HS1 bulb installed as stock. You might have installed H4 bulb and that could be the reason for Pass switch problem... I am not 100% sure with this... but you can always check with that...Originally posted by sjv0110 View PostYou just need to pull them and set in desired position.. no switch to do this

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
H4 is a direct fit on Gixxer. I have Philips Bluvision 55w(H4) bulb and pass light is working. It's how the light is connected, that causes this. Please take it back to mechanic and show him.Originally posted by sjv0110 View PostOK thanks.. but this bulb says H4 / HS1.. so should be applicable for both?
