So I bought a Suzuki gixxer sf few days back.....and have already clocked 500 kms....and have not done the 1st servicing yet.....and I feel that the engine is stressed out at any speeds above 75kmph or 80 kmph...so I wanted to ask that is this a problem with my bike..or it is normal???

So you've clocked just 500 kilometers, haven't got the first service done and are still running over 75 and 80.
Are you even running-in your bike ? Do read the manual bro and keep the rpm below 4.5k until the first service. Your bike is most probably normal, but it does need proper run-in. Wait for the first service before revving it hard.

Actually only once I crossed 4500 rpm.....that's it.....otherwise I am properly running in my bike...anyways thank you for the information bro....and one more question......so I have already clocked in 500 kms so will it be okay to do the 1st servicing after 700 kms??

They do not connect the ODO. They have to wait until the bike is taken to the RTO for passing. They should connect once that is done.

You are not supposed to do more than 60kph before first 750km. Because 5th gear @4500RPM = 60kph.

You engine is dying and thats why its sounding stressed out. Because you did not take care of it properly. There is nothing wrong with the bike you are just not a good rider.

Okay now I get it.....sorry for being a bit ignorant.....from now on I will be riding in speeds less than 60kmph.....so the big mistake that I have made....will that affect my bike.....or everything will be fine after 1st servicing.??....because I crossed 80kmph only 2-3 times.....not more than that......normally I ride in speeds less than 65kmph..

Hahhhaha......I know....this is my 1st bike......so I was a little tempted to ride it in speeds more than 80kmph....but I did it only 2-3 times.....otherwise I always keep the rpm less than 4500......but now am a little concerned....as he said that my engine is dying....now I think I made a huge mistake...😢😢😢redlining the bike so early...😢😢

Hey every spirited person does that mistake. Your engine will be fine after 1st service. If you are too concerned show it to the SVC, I;m sure they'll say the same. You can ask them to change the oil since you're well above 500kms.
Rest assured your bike is fine and you'll know it in time. All said, I'll advice you to practice caution henceforth during your run-in period, it makes a lot of difference in the long run.

lets take example of a athlete , during early training days he cannot run more than 200 mts, but after 1 month of training he easily does it. Does it mean he was strong enough earlier ?

Point here is 500 kms is nothing for a engine , a member here has done 4L kms on his Joy , drove 160-200kms with a seized engine , still his bike looks like straight out of showroom. Let engine run for 2-4k kms before touching or altering anything. Unless you are completely adamant that something has gone wrong , just ride.

Also make it a point to get bike serviced on time , before distance limit . E.G service first at 450-470 kms , dont go beyond or they will deny warranty as well as coupon goes to waste.
After 1.5k kms on 5th gear slowly touch 80kmph , hold it there for sometime and slowly reduce speed. Workup the engine completely and it will be best in performance.

Why so much care , when you can rip and be happy .? one can do that if you are planning to sell bike in couple years.
My 2011 xtreme , properly taken care of , and serviced only by me runs like beauty. Top end of 120 kmph and FE more than 50kmpl. So if i can do it , so can you.
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

Don't be so harsh mate. Nothing is going to happen to his engine. Talking about crossing the RPM limit specified in the manual, it won't affect the engine if you do it correctly, that is in a gradual manner and not for a longer period of time. Simple thing to remember during run-in is to be gentle on the throttle and vary the RPMs as much as possible. Going above the limit is fine for shorter periods once in a while and won't affect the engine in anyway.

                          ~Cheers

                            • Engine Oil ideal level

                              Hey guys,

I've done ~2400 KMs on my bike. I got it serviced @750 km when the engine oil was changed, the chain was cleaned and lubricated.

I thought of checking the Engine oil level today and here's what I saw.

I'm not really sure how much oil should I see, but this surely looks less.

Do I need to get it replaced ?

Also, what is the ideal frequency for changing the engine oil ?
What about cleaning and lubricating the chain ? In how many kilometers should I do these two.

I know it needs to be cleaned.
