I'm not really sure how much oil should I see, but this surely looks less.

Do I need to get it replaced ?

Also, what is the ideal frequency for changing the engine oil ?
What about cleaning and lubricating the chain ? In how many kilometers should I do these two.

I know it needs to be cleaned.
The engine oil looks really low lol... Usually I change it in every service lol... Coming to the chain part, its advisable to lubricate chain every 500 kms and clean it every second time I.e., 1000 kms

Personally the way run in works is different with every bike but a little bit of speeding doesn't do any damage also you should always or you can if you want go about 1000 rpm more then advisable since it will help open up the engine for the ownership of the bike. But that depends on person to person. I personally did go over 1000 rpm in my run in for my bajaj 220F and it didnt hurt the engine but enhance the bike for more speed and pleasure. My brother had the same bike as well and he followed the booklet's advice then I compared the top speed with both our bikes. The top speed I did after run in on his bike was 125 Kmph while mine went over 151 Kmph. So yes it's a huge difference between the run in of his bike and the way i run in with mine. So i personally prefer to go over 500 to 1000 rpm over the course of the run in to help engine get used to the abuse I was gonna put on it after.. It just helps in my point of view. But I'm sure most of you would disagree with me on this topic. But then again i'm not an expert but only have expertise with the bikes I drive.

How big is the scratch, can you take couple of pictures of it and show us that way at least I can tell you if vinyl is a good option or not, there are many ways you can fix this issue. Also it depends on how deep the scratch is because if it's too deep the vinyl will push in it sooner or later and it will look more worse.. So let us know, we will do the best we can to help you recover this bad situation.

          Hi everyone,

Well I'm going to get my SF tomorrow.,what are the documents or proofs I need to carry?(I'll do a full cash payment)

And I've seen the Pre Inspection link given in the before pages and are there any other things I need to clearly check for SF especially?

          Thankyou.

Thanks ! Really low indeed. Any idea what could have caused it, if it was supposed to last till the second service ?

Check for faring alignment on both side & scratches, any other things can be claimed later but for scratches & dents the showroom people wash hands if claimed after delivery .

Might as well take your Driving License. Check the mirrors (they tend to get loose easily), lights and odo.

Simple thing to remember during run-in is to be gentle on the throttle and vary the RPMs as much as possible. Going above the limit is fine for shorter periods once in a while and won't affect the engine in anyway.

you clearly have no knowledge about mechanical engineering and the forces involved at high RPMs and know anything about work hardening...
People who dont follow the rules set by engineers are the same idiots who say that "yeah suzuki sux becuz ma mileage is ghatia" they forget to mention that they raped their engine from the start. I have seen to many sad engines who were clearly abused during pre 1000kms. Its evident from the amount of oil they burn and the marks inside the cylinder.

                  is it on centre stand?

make sure its on centre stand and you have waited atleast 3 minutes after turning off engine. Do not measure while engine running as engine oil is sucked by engine as it sprays oil into the underside of the piston to keep the engine cool. yes if this were bajaj they would have called it oil cooled . but it isnt it. real oil cooled use a radiator to cool the oil

Thank you and I'll take those documents and I'm not outsider so no need of that.,and I'll surely look for dents and fairing alignment and for scratches.
I'll be looking on these three things for sure.,if there are any more let me know so that I can check it up.

Well one more doubt yesterday I watched a YT video where the guy said that if one side of faring gets damaged we need to change the whole doom of the bike and that costs 10k it seems is that true?
Can't we change only side fairings? The service center guy told him to change everything it seems.

                    Thanks again.

You can carefully fill in the scratches with paint and a fine brush . Any near-colour will do . You can take help from a painter like those who write the number plates - they'll have the necessary paint , brush , solvent and skill . This shall reduce the contrast of the scratches and make them almost UN-noticeable , but ofcourse not fully invisible . For full correction - replace the scratched part .

                            Hi all,

This is my first post on xBhp. I am following this thread since long time. I was thinking of getting gixxer sf from quite a long. And this new fi version launch of gixxer almost made me postpone the purchase. Then came to know one newly launched application giving discount around 14 k on bike booking through it. Got tempted and booked the bike straight away. Finally getting the bike at 91159 rs OTR. Hope I have made right decision.

Mostly I will be getting my bike on this weekend. Excited to get hands on baby busa!!! Can't wait!!!

No painting please it will further ruin its looks , you need to get it buffed with buffing compound ,the gar garage guys have this to bring out shine & hide minor scratches .The last resort would be the pencil type screach remover available online for approx 100rs it hides minor marks over cars you can try that.

First thing formost you need to do is wash your bike with a diesel wash then use a polish and have a buffer and keep rebuffing the paint until it combines with the strach that should help in covering it a lot. And about the big side starch you can use this method but I dont think it will help but try the polish and buffing it will combine the area with the paint already there.. once that is done and it makes minimal difference then you can use the paint method mentioned above. Hope this helps..
