          Here's what happened...

I was on my way to Bhandardara with my friend via NH3 when this happened. It was 4.30 am Saturday, i was riding at Shahapur around 80-90 kmph and suddenly there was a pothole along with a paver block which is generally used to close this potholes... i banged my bike on that pothole and then small block but thankfully bike was in total control... but within few seconds it was started shaking and i immediately knew that front tyre is punctured... i stopped my bike at side of the highway only to realize it was more than a puncture...

Front RIM was bend and broken... i was cool and calm... and started laughing after few minutes as I dropped RS200 just bcoz of this reason... read this...
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Alloy Wheel Breaks, Endangers Life

Then I started thinking what to do... bcoz it was 4.30 am and there was no help around... i crossed the road with my bike... asked help from one of Milk Van (tempo) and he was ready drop me till nearest Naka (Kalyan fata)... he helped me lifting my bike and i kept it in his van... then we got down at Kalyan fata... found one Puncture man and i inserted tube inside my broken RIM and tyre... And then I rode my bike all alone till Andheri (my place).

I visited Kiran Suzuki today and told him the entire incident... I insisted that they should change my RIM under warranty as this is a very rare incident and it shouldn't happen... he first refused to change the RIM under warranty but then agreed to drop an email to their Seniors at Suzuki... they also asked me to drop an email to Suzuki about this incident...

I bought this bike and rejected KTM and RS200 because of this quality issues with indian companies like bajaj... I thought that Suzuki being a reputed international company will have good quality product... but i am shocked to came across such incident... I rode Karizma R for good 7 years and 60000 kms.... toured many places... and that too at the speeds of 90-100-110 kmph... came across many potholes and worst than the one on Saturday... never ever my RIM broken ... RIM bent is still understood and it should be that way... But breaking of rim is too much...

Now few questions to my fellow XBHPians...

          1. Is RIM breakage is normal thing for bikes?
          2. The bike did not lost its control... none of us (me and pillion) had any injuries... according to me, the impact was not that nasty... then whats the reason of RIM breakage... bad quality of material OR nature of impact
          3. Even if the RIM is replaced (which i've to), whats the guarantee that new RIM will not be broken in future... How will I gain my confidence back on this bike...??

Lots of such questions running in my mind now... i'm shattered and broken... how to trust this bike now and Suzuki for that matter?

Sagar maybe that one had a defect. Going by your description i think it's a normal pothole. Once replaced it should be fine.

It all depends on the trailing edge of the pothole.
If it is a sudden rise even a car rim would bend.
Bike rims are no exception. Given the fact that they are thin and a pothole at that speed is pretty lethal for the tyre and rim.

BTW, can you post a photo

That is really unfortunate and disappointing bro, the whole incident and what happened post that. I wonder, what will mailing do? Get on a call with the Suzuki people, ask them to recheck your bike completely for defects and a free rim.

Ask them for the possible reason why this should break, because like you said, there are far older bikes taking rather stronger blows on the wheels but dont break that easily and also the nature of the impact seems to point at some defect.

                  all the best man

Bend is still acceptable and i dont complain but having a crack or breaking it completely is too much.. that too with kind of impact where bike is in control and not fallen down.

                      here are the pics...

Fuuuk man, that is some damage, that too at the point where the spoke meets the rim.
THe fact that its a bend and not a break means that this may not be covered underwarranty.
Just my opinion mate, I suggest you do still call Suzuki and post it on FB. Social media can do wonders these days

Talk to Suzuki first and see how they react. If it doesnt go well then take it up on social media etc.

Was there anyone along with you who can vouch for what happened?

Is there anyone from allahabad here.
It's been 2 months and my gixxer sf is not arrived yet ( they told me 1 month waiting period) I am very disappointed by suzuki india
Agency guy giving me dates after date and now they told me to wait till last of the September.
                                What should I do ?
And they told me that price is increased a little bit (2-3k)because of increase in insurance.
I am going to cancel the booking
