hi benryu, I will take the test ride for the bike suzuki gixxer sf. But i still fear that the alloy wheels may get damaged when i ride the bike on potholes after seeing the photos posted recently in the group. but anyways thank you for your suggestion for posting my requirements in help group.

Wow .. If they do this and do not provide an upgrade kit for the current gixxers I will be highly disappointed .. Rear disc was the only thing that's a con of the sf

                        Hey guys,

I am new to this forum and I have gone through all the discussion related to the SF. I currently have a Bajaj Pulsar 150 (2005 model) and I am planning to buy the Gixxer. Was initially confused between the Naked and the SF. Its the same dilemma as others on this forum have been having. Well my mind is pulling me towards the naked but the heart has fallen for the SF. But I think I would go for the SF.
My next dilemma is the color for the SF. The MotoGp edition with the graphics looks awesome but I like the black too. I feel the graphics from the MotoGP would look awesome on the Black SF. Has anyone tried that? I suppose the SVC would have the graphics as the spare fairing wouldn't come with the graphics on it.
Please let me know your views.
Also, Kiran Suzuki in Thane has quoted me 97984 OTR with a waiting of 45 days. Based on the other quotes I find its OK. Please let me know your views.

Ok first of all, you already have a 150cc bike, if you are getting a new bike I recommend you upgrade to 200.

Next go with your Mind not the heart, you wont regret the decision made by your mind. You have to understand a couple of things when selecting a Faired bike. Nobody has yet commented on the temperature status of the SF since its Air cooled. Also when you do get the bike you need to install frame sliders otherwise a crack in the fairing or paint scraping can cost you dearly.

The difference between the MotoGP edition and the Black version is the Massive Suzuki stickers on the sides. You can do that yourself if you want to but the MotoGP livery is special in itself. Putting massive Suzuki stickers on the sides on black base version will not make it MotoGP

In Hyderabad the OTR is 1Lakh with a waiting period of 30days. So the quote you got seems to be fine.

Hey Thanks for your reply buddy.
I actually am quite happy with the performance of the 150cc. Also, with my daily commute of about 60 kms I suppose it would give me a decent mileage as compared to a 200 cc.

Well I totally get your point regarding the mind over heart suggestion. But I don't want to regret later of not having bought the SF version. Because I always wanted a full faired bike but all of them were over budget.

I agree that the MotoGP livery is really special. But I feel the Black version would give me more options to add different decals.

I would try and bargain for a better waiting period with the dealer. Lets see how it goes.

If you are going to sell your pulsar and get this one, then its fine

SF yes, its an amazing bike but I urge you to wait since there was a sighting of a Gixxer with Rear disc brakes. So wait for that option to hit the market. Also if and when you get the Bike make sure you remember to install Frame Sliders. (off topic: Try considering the R15-S)

And about the waiting period dont try to rush it. Chances are if they are readily agreeing to drop the waiting period it means they are giving you a field tested bike not factory new. It may even be a Test ride bike that they may force you into buying. So be careful about that.
