Congratulations on the new tyre. Hope you have a good time on it. Do let me know if your tyre develops a weird wear just like mine did.
Is Amazon trustworthy, local tyre dealer told me they sell old stocks and isn't the best place to buy a new tyre as you may face several problems including used tyres.
    What's your opinion on this?

Thanks bro. I got a fresh stock of tyre (September 2020). Tyre seems to be brand new. The seller helped me in registering the warranty. Regarding online purchase of tyre, there might or might not be risk buying from sellers in amazon. It's better to buy a tyre from a seller with replacement policy, which in my case is 10 days.
Regarding the weird wear, let me observe the wear for some time and report the same.
Also I have a query, do you experience a whistle sound while riding at low speeds at the time when the tyre was changed.? I hear that sound. Is it normal?

The rev drops for a few seconds then becomes normal and this cycle keeps repeating over and over. Similarly it's difficult to start the motorcycle if it's raining. In dry conditions, it performs beautifully, no issues.
        What can be the issue?
        Motorcycle is serviced properly.
Could the spark plug be the issue? (Plug was changed recently, March 2020).
        Thank you.
Im going through the same exact issue, ive changed the spark plug too.

The overflow hole in the gas tank is clogged up most of the times due to rust.

Once was stuck on a solo ride on village roads whit no help , tride kick starting for 20mins before it started back again.

I am suspecting carborator issue, which is causing loss of compression in the engine.
Im Totally worried to take the bike for any short long rides now.

        Gixxer community pls assist here[emoji28][emoji28]

It has been more than a year now since the tyre has been changed, but if my memory serves me right I don't remember any such whistling sound. Do keep me updated on the wear. Really looking forward to see if it replicates.

If both of us are facing the issue due to the same fault, I doubt the carburettor could be the reason, because mine is FI.

          Can someone please help?

            Hi Alphamike,

Im here at the Dolphin suzuki service center,Andheri,Mumbai.

Got the service done, replaced spark plug to a new original suzuki plug, also replaced the spark plug cap, which as per the svc was causing short.

Also did carb cleaning and found out internal spring of the carbs to be rusted, the mechanic suggested to change entire carb assembly (Rs.5k approx) which i currently think is a bs idea.

Lets see if this spark plug cap resolves the problem of not starting randomly.

One more thing: the 4 screws which hold the handle bar in place rusted easily and their replacement takes 20 days on order request only.

              Keep us posted sandsbhatre.
Haven't faced a problem of rusting yet, but my motorcycle is usually in a covered parking area most of the time. Hopefully the spark plug cap replacement must solve the issue.

Update: The sparkplug cap replacement seems to have resolved the issue.

1)Now looking at new set of tyres and thinking of Ceat zoom rad and zoom plus.
Anyone with a review for these?

2)Rear wheel bearing faulty, wheel wobbles few mm sideways. Svc will take 25 days for part on order.

                    • I have one question. Why there is grease like stuff in the engine oil cap. What will be the reason for this?

                        Hi alphamike,

Got to the root cause of my rev drops and not starting issue in the past 2 weeks.

Problem: no ignition and rev drops after washing or few days of not riding. Or on many occasions used to start and after 50 kms there used to be no ignition.
Diagnosis: sparkplug replaced, its cap replaced, still felt the issue reoccurring after a month.

Solution: the spark plug wire at the other end where it joins the ignition coil has a loose connection, slight twisting and pushing it in the coil resolves the issue and ignition occur without much effort.

Once lockdown is over will replace the faulty parts Asap.

                        • Hello xbhp-ians,

I an facing an issue with "Malfunction Indicator" for my Gixxer SF FI (2017).

Recently I got my Gixxer transported back to hometown due to ongoing lockdown. When I received it was damaged (right side fiber broken) along with that I noticed bike was not starting on self and malfunction indicator was up.

Possible reason I assumed was maybe the battery was drained since it last ran in October.

First thing I did is to take t for service at authorized service center. After all the services they mentioned that there are no issues in FI, you only need to replace the battery and it'll resolve.

I was reluctant at that time to buy a new battery as I believed maybe the battery need a full charge and it'll work again easily. But, my ad luck, lockdown happened again and not able to charge the battery.

Now before I buy a new battery I had 2 questions-

                          1) As per manual, is there is a battery problem the malfunction indicator will blink 3 times rapidly when we turn the ignition on. Well that is not happening here. I am getting constant blips after regular interval, so not confirmed about the problem related to battery only.

                          2) I really don't want to spend on new battery right now, if the problem(self start) can be resolved by charging it. Also what if the indicator keeps on blipping after the battery replacement?

Can someone please guide if same has happened or the resolution. I just want to know if this is a common problem after keeping the bike idle for several months.

You can try going to a battery center and recharge it ...costs around Rs.50 - 150.
