Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Has anyone ordered anything from eBay till date?
On an impulse, I ordered these frame sliders coz they looked quite cheap.
I hope they reach me!

I'm seeing some cheap bobbins on eBay and Ali Express. Not sure what difference it would make safety wise.
I have a kinda long wish list of add-ons. 9500 on frame sliders alone will kinda limit my other items.
Anyone got pics of the Yamaha tank pad?

Be careful when you buy frame sliders some of them do more damage than actually helping.
We had a CBR250 owner who dropped his bike at 60-70 kmph the frame slider bent his frame which is even bad compared to breaking the side panel.
Some frame sliders actually do good job but make sure you do proper homework.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Although as of now i own a NS200, but am a potential customer of R3.
I too Always doubted that a frame Slider might do more damage than protecting the bike. sine the frame slider are attached directly to the frame it will transfer the impact force directly to the frame.
unless it is something like a NS leg guard, which basically bends and twists itself even with a small fall and thereby have to change it (costs only Rs100/-)
I guess going for a Zero dep policy on the Bike will be a better option. Obviously one has to go through the hassels and long waiting period of the total procedure to be done.
but any day a scratched fairing is better than a bend frame!!sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I saw the Description of this one saying 'Will not break, will transfer the force radially'
The outer material is Delrin (the one that files off). Overall description is fine.
Only doubt is reaching me without any hassles.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
im no fan of frame sliders , they INFACT do more DAMAGE than , saving.
i have seen one GT250R frame slider damaging the chasis during a fall, eventhough if frame slider breaks [ brittle ]during fall to avoid damage to chasis still the fairing will get scrapped.
now spending 5-9k for frame slider is meaningless when with just 6k you can get 0% depreciation insurance

Own a ninja and have had a low speed fall due to slick roads ... Frame sliders saved the faring ...without a scratch ... Zero dep isn't a point of contention but I think good frame sliders are useful... Impact and damage will differ ofcourse

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
As per the reviews I read, they are supposed to transfer the impact radially, so that the force doesn't travel through the frame.
That said, since it is just a bobbin, it can't cover the entire fairing.
That's why I'm not too keen on spending close to 10K on it!

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I didn't want to get those cheap frame sliders which damage the frame.. So went on with the experts in high tech parts.. PUIG. Btw who said side fairing is 6k. As far I know its nothing less than 15k . R15 side panels comes around 6k for 4 parts.Ride Safe! Journey is more important than destination
