Faiz, I felt the tires are really good and give an all-round performance. They're really good for touring and for some medium cornering/leaning also. Never I lost confidence. What's your view on this? Why you think they need to be changed ASAP?

32 kmpl on a total highway run or mixed running of city&highway? But any which ways, that's great and not too bothered either..
Wanted to know, approximately how many kms did u run after the F- km reading started?
I am managing 25/26kmpl in city riding conditions, and the F- reading starts at 270 odd kms. Tried riding on F- for 23kms and refueled. So that made a tank run of 294 kms. But when refueled only 11ltrs went in.
So either the reserve fuel blinker warned me well in advance, or the 3L claimed reserve was still unused which would have aided atleast another 50kms to the range..

Would like to know what's the maximum fuel in ltrs that fellow owners have filled in at what km reading on that particular tank .?

I have done aroud 55kms after the -F started blinking.. Then I fuelled around 12 litres. The tank has little more capacity than 14 litres as you can see the manual shows a top limit line, which is some distance below the cap line

As per me, when the reserve light blinks, the remaining capacity is 4lts.

32 kmpl on a total highway with maintained speeds of 95-110 kmph with sudden speed bursts upto 175 kmph, though only when in a mood to outrun some annoying cars. Though FE never bothered me cause I'm too happy with the bike and the performance.

I never ran the bike on F- as NH5 sometimes has stretches of more than 70 kms with no good petrol bunks in sight, actually leave petrol bunks you can't notice any living object also sometimes.

ArnabC, sirjee read about your bangalore - Kolkata trip .. Salute! I can only dream of making such a long trip.. Guys here discussing deliveries and 1st service experience and here you are with already 2nd service done and at this rate, setting sights on the 3rd scheduled service..

Getting my 1st service done this week and planned a short ride for Sunday. 900kms done till date. Haven't taken it past 100kmph yet(tough task avoiding doing that)
royaldesigner, first of all, thank you for the pm reply. Hopefully will be sourcing something similar in Mumbai coz they don't currently provide services here.
Was curious to know the F- range coz it helps in knowing before hand rather thn being sorry after ur stuck up with no fuel. Just for emergency times though. It's always better and safe not to run the bike too much in F-.. Sarvajit that's the same observation for me too..

Thanks Karan, actually that's the plan. Getting the third service done quickly, so no more free services.

BTW, you can take the bike till 110 kmph at 6th gear 7K RPM which is mentioned in the manual. Next 600 kms, go for a long ride, test the bike sometimes, Try to run the engine for longer durations. Though as no oil and oil filter will be changed, I guess you can easily take her for long rides holding the bikes till 8.4K RPM which is approx 125+ kmph. The most important is the first 1000 kms. I did the first 1000 very carefully, then after first service went to Goa with pillion. So not to stress then engine, was keeping the bike slow, and also trying to rotate the gears as much as I can.

Arnab, Tires didn't inspire the same amount of confidence as metz on my duke, I felt tires losing a bit of traction on hard braking. It could be because they are still in their break in period. Anyway will let you know after I cover 2k kms on it.

Any of you maintaining a fuel log on fuelly??

Faiz, Metz are like completely different and those tires are like almost the best you can get. MRFs are never and will never be in comparison to the Metz. But what I wanted to say that as standalone tires, these MRFs do their job. Even at the price and the durability I think they'll be good only, from touring purpose. Cause it will keep the average running cost low which is a big thing for tourers. But grip wise Metz the best.

I never bring the bike to F-. But normally, complete city riding can give 270 kms for a full tank, complete highway riding may touch 360-370 kms or more.

We would love to, seriously. But then you'll also agree that WhatsApp is a more convenient way to communicate than the forum. Also, there are some topics about R3 which are relevant to an owner only, and we really don't want to flood with those things here.
