Can anyone please suggest me a good yamaha dealer in Pune to buy R3? Based on their purchase and after sales service experience.

Any thoughts or experiences will be appreciated

Those who faced the Code 19 and bike shut off issue:
From page 174 and fusioncoast, I understand it is due to some dust or rust in the jumper which is used to bypass the side stand switch for Indian version.
Please let me know what was checked and fixed. I will ask my Mechanic to check the same.
Pics would help immensely.
Thanks in advance

Yes happened yesterday. Initially I thought it was a battery issue. Then understood the bike is cranking up but switching off immediately

Bit worried in making my decision because of this issue. cant imagine if it doesn't start and iam struck in the middle of nowhere or even in case of any urgent work.
This problem seems to be world wide but yet yamaha haven't looked into it.

Is it not possible to cover the jumper or implement side stand switch functionality in India like in other nations?

Users can use Vaseline to insulate the contacts from corrosion and rust.
IMO, with R3 or R15, one needs to buy a small toolkit.
I bought mine a while ago. Regular maintenance is now a breeze

I hope there is a recall for this too.
But niggles are common even in high end bikes and cars. I don't suggest losing faith on the brand.

As per my latest conversation with Ankit Mishra, it is from the ignition keyhole.
Side stand functionality is already disabled for India by using a jumper.

Toolkit helps for various things, I agree.
But Vaseline might not be a permanent solution. What was done in your case?
I have not faced this on my 8 year old R15 or 12.5 year old Fiero F2 or for that matter any vehicle I owned till date.
Not sure what is different in the design of R3!

I have shot a small video but unable to post it here. Please let me know if anyone can help with posting it.

too many electronics man.. their diagnostic tool and manual should be able to throw some light.
i read somewhere that one guy was able to get it sorted by replacing the speed sensor.
maybe you can start off by unplugging and re-plugging whatever wires you can see (stand bypass, ecu connector, speed sensor) and making sure you push the contacts and the wire that goes into the connector firmly. And even the clutch switch.
Someone even mentioned it could be ignition barrel and the wires that go from it.. spray some wd40 in to it and see what happens
Just curious, does the neutral light glow up in neutral and go off in gears ?

For my bike checking the connections mentioned on page 174 and also changing the key lock set has solved the problem of error 19 . Check up the connections mentioned on page174 first ,it is a DIY job you can do by removing the front seat .If that does not solve the problem then ask the service centre to check all the electrical connectors and proceed further. For my bike spraying WD40 on the switches did not make any difference but you can try it out.

Funnily ,I seem to have the same Stanley tool set you have ,bought in 2014 for working on my R15 & Rx135.

Hi All,

I am satyajit from bhubaneswar. I have booked a black R3 last Tuesday and i will be taking delivery of the blue colored one tomorrow most probably.

i have gone through all pages in this thread, thanks to all who have contributed to the thread which helped me in taking the decision.

Like some body said in this thread, it's more difficult to choose among the colors than choosing the bike.
When i visited the show room earlier only the black was available on display and in photos i used see mostly black R3s. When i visited last time luckily both colors were available.
With confusion i booked the black color but felt blue looks better. So, asked them to change it to blue. As both are available i can take any of them.

Now i have a formula for color when in confusion, go with the color which company projects i.e uses in brochure etc. I believe it's done with great thoughts from experts and typically looks and suites good.

I feel the black looks cool and silent while blue is vibrant. The dual color stickers of blue and silver in blue gives good contrast while brown and black almost look same. The curves gets hidden in dark color while in blue these are more visible like those in the fuel tank.

My current garage:
Vw Polo diesel highline
Hornet 160R

I will be selling the hornet soon, but for some days he share garage with R3.

Change the ignition key lock set and it will be fine. It would be covered under warranty. It's not related to side stand sensor.
