Hi guys, quick question. Has anyone got their R3 serviced in Pacer Yamaha, hebbal, Bangalore? If yes, how is the service quality? Were you happy with the work? Need to give my bike for 2nd service.
But during those time you were not able to switch on the bike ? i mean we cant make it start and ride by any chance ?
Each time after couple of attempts of switching on & off with the key it would come on ,some contact problem in the lock set which they changed .Luckily did not get stranded anywhere ,just avoided out of station trips till it was changed .

this happened 2 times but i turned off the ignition switch off and then turn it on and the bike started normally.
As I gaze upon your beauty, I think to myself, "never have I seen an angel fly so low".
I last turned ON the ignition on my bike 23 days ago.
Since then it has been on a Paddock stand.
Is it ok to leave it like that or should I at least start it and leave it to idle every 10 - 15 days?

Please explain in detail. Sometimes, a non Yamaha user doesn't understand stuff in this thread.
What do you mean you haven't turned in ignition ON in 23 days? Do you just use kill switch at night and leave the key in the slot?
And I always thought motorcycles needed to be idled every time they were fired after a few hours of rest.

I think he means that he hasn't used the bike in 23 days.
At-least on the ktm's , if you keep the ignition(key) in the ON position and shut the engine off using the kill switch and leave it, the battery will drain out in less than a day.
The bike can be left unused for a couple of months without issues (as long as the oil sitting in the bike is not too old/dirty). But if you can start it and let it idle for a few minutes once a week, it will keep the battery in a healthier state and also lube up the internals. If you are storing it for more than a month, I'd advice you drain out the fuel, because if you are someone who frequently stores the bike for long unused periods the fuel gets gummed up and over time it could cause clogging of injector and build up on the fuel tank/lines.

Umm..I left the bike on the Paddock stand. Off, covered with a bike cover. Unused with a little over half fuel.
Engine oil is new, I would say less then 500Kms old.
I will go home today and let it idle/run on the stand for say 5 minutes.

Ok, so you haven't used your bike for 23 days.
It doesn't need a daily idling in this case, just ride it long for the battery got get charged enough whenever you get time.

We recently had a small Bangalore G2G meet at Nandi Hills. September 4th
Only guys who own R3.
I haven't used my bike since. Skip to the end if you feel bored.
Don't think we'll be getting the ABS version anytime soon. And if and when it finally arrives, the ABS version will probably be priced some 30-40k above the current version.
