ABS is not coming to india. I bought a bike 3 weeks ago I asked showroom salesperson if i can install it if it is launched in future he told me company would have lauched it already if they had any plans to do it.

                I live in mumbai.

ABS and new color will be available during diwali not before that.

I doubt the salesman even knows the technicality behind the ABS unit. I've never heard of retrofit ABS being done by an OEM. I would love to be wrong here, but I'm not too sure if they'll be offering such a thing.

I agree with you here on retrofitting ABS and i asked this question to salesperson because i wanted to know if it is possible to install one as an accessory. Point i was making that sales person i was talking to did not expect abs to be introduced in India even in future and the reason behind this would be cost of putting ABS on might be more than what we expect it to be. when i was in the market for the bike i was following Benelli thread closely as i was interested in buying tnt 300(changed that decision later after visiting both showrooms and after test riding both the bikes).Initially benelli was supposed to introduced abs for 300 and 600, price increase they were quoting was around 30k maybe because manufacturing cost in china is less.In case of yamaha that might go upto 50k. that might be the reason. What u say.

Instead of ABS i think it would be wiser to invest in good tyres for now.

Booked the R3 today wait period is 25 days

I have to choose the color by evening but the R15 is coming up with the same color as R3. so i think black is a better option.

Instead of better tyres I think its wiser to install steel braided brake lines first. Are the stock tyres that bad? They are MRF if I'm not wrong

Going for second service tomorrow. Anything to look out for. Is it fine to go with shell synthetic or should stick to yamahalube?

How many KMS have you covered? Also as a general rule you dont change to synthetic until atleast 2000kms

Bro the stock engine oil for R3 is fully synthetic.

Even I have bought Shell advance FS 10w40 and will be putting that in my 2nd svc. After some research I found out people found shell bit smoother as compared to Motul 7100. Many have found the Yamalube to go bad after 4k kms so many are contemplating changing the brand. Just clarify with the service center first so that they don't cite this as a reason to void your warranty (As per Yamaha warranty can be void if a different grade of oil is used not a different brand).

Tip to buy Shell FS : Amazon is giving the best deal. I got 1 liter for 645 bucks! The petrol pump sells it for 827 per liter

Also, Do change the air filter. It goes real bad at 3rd service/10k kms. So please change now.
