i am sure you guys will have spare bike/scooter like active or something, but in my case i don't have scooter so a second bike was absolute necessary, i just choose tried/tested R15 [i rode V1 for 60,000 km in 6 years].

as for R3 , i still have time till next Dec , hopefully will get that time , now no money to invest on 2 bikes at a time
If you already had 250's in the past, then it would be better to move on to a 600. But again the issue of parking would arise with bigger bikes like I am also facing now, I use it in all places since it's the only one readily available for me now . I had to see my bike handled by some people couple of times and lost my cool. I wanted to buy an alarm but didn't want to mess with the electronics. Not at least when I'm in warranty. So I bought the below disk lock alarm, it works if someone tries to move handle etc. Just for my peace of mind.

Lol.. This was 6 km long flyover with a very long downward slop. I slowed down before the flyover ended.

I've tried it in Delhi in bumper to bumper traffic and it stays at 3 bars out of 5, but this is when its cold in Delhi, will have to wait for March before finding out how much it overheats.

ha... the infamouse disk lock , i too had a disk lock on my GT250R, once i forgot to remove disk lock and moved the bike , a big noise and i see the mudgurad fairing chipped off
and another time by mistake in a hurry put the disk lock reverse , finally has to cut open the lock using saw blade as there was no space to insert key to unlock :

since then never bothered about disk lock

As I read this, A you tube video came into my mind which i had seen recently while searching for disk lock.

Saw a blue r3 near st. Thomas mount last evening in Chennai, wondering if it was anyone on this forum? . Honestly I thought it was a ninja300 until I saw the front

As a previous Yamaha R15 owner, I was waiting for a right upgrade to the awesome machine and then the R3 was launched. Even though I was disappointed like everyone due to the lack of ABS, the temporary commuter I purchased (Used 2010 Yamaha FZ-S) wasn't good enough for me.
The decision is now made and I am putting my cash on the Yamaha R3. Wanted to know from the current owners, the best dealer in Chennai and anything that I should specifically check during PDI and before delivery.

Hey guys, i have been a silent follower of xbhp for quite a while and this is my first post. I have been following this thread quite keenly and i appreciate everyones inputs so far.

Myself im mostly a city rider and have owned bikes like rxg, fazer 16 and ktm d200. I currently have a fz 16 which i strictly use as a back up to my car. Now i want to upgrade to a twin cylinder from yamaha. Im confused if i should go ahead with R3 or wait for the MT 03? I mostly prefer naked motorcycles but im open to the R3. My usage would be 80% within city limits and on a regular basis. Appreciate your thoughts on the matter considering the MT03 is expected to be cheaper than the R3? If yes, will it be by a significant amount or negligible?

Also any R3 owner from New Delhi can advise about their experiences with Adarsh Yamaha - sales and service?

                                Appreciate it. Cheers
