  • Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Guys, is R3 still available in showroom for 3.2 lakhs in Bengaluru? If yes, which showroom? I am interested to consider for buying. Yet to decide as I have lot of confusion between this and Z250. Ninja is pretty expensive, goes upto 5 lakh.

Its not available anywhere. The last known piece was at BW and it should be sold by now. The new on road price would be just under 4.10L. Ninja 300 is around 4.55L on road. Dont know who added those extra .45 there. Would suggest you to wait till an official statement from Yamaha.

Yes, there was one available which as of is booked but the fate of that r3 is yet to be decided as per bangalore wheels. They said one guy is picking it up but not confirmed. Hang in there i will let you know if you get lucky.

        • R3 availability at Whitefield Yamaha

Casually walked in and asked about the R3 availability at Whitefield Yamaha(its a pretty new showroom). The sales rep was a young guy and he told the bike is readily available.Delivery will be in 3-4 days.I was surprised and repeatedly asked him if he was sure and whether the bike was BS3 or BS4 compliant.Again he confidently replied that it was BS4 and the price is 4.1 lakhs.

The way he replied to my questions,i felt that either I am misinformed or he is clueless .Interested guys might want to query again and see if you can get more info.

And people who are not aware of this BS4 issue can be easily fooled.

R3 was BSIII and is discontinued.

BS IV getting launched in June 2017. If sold after April 1/2017 should be illegal.

Dealers have invoiced all the unsold BS 3 vehicles on their or their relative names at end of march, what you will be getting is probably new , unused but on paper
                second hand vehicle.

It means the bikes are with ready number plates and are simply transferred in the name of new owner.

As far as I understand, Yes.
The bikes were invoiced before midnight if done on software and in some cases manually. They needed to be registered in a week ie first week of April.
Only thing to be careful is to make sure that vehicle is registered, any unregistered vehicle will in no case be registered now.

Guys, I just called Bangalore Wheels in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru to enquire about Yamaha R3. They said that the vehicle is not available and it will take atleast a month for them to get the new version. However, BOOKINGS ARE OPEN. When asked about Slipper Clutch and ABS incorporation, he told that they will get to know only when the new lot arrives with the details or when Yamaha officially announces. But the bottom line is IT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN Bangalore Wheels showroom as of now.

Atleast there is a good news that it might relaunch in a month.
                        My guess:
                        slipper clutch - No way.
                        ABS- most probably no.
                        New graphics- definitely yes.
                        Price hike - Yes

As far as my knowledge goes on R3 (India Launch).

There is no ABS version till April 2018.
There is no slipper clutch in R3.
New lot only after June 2017.
