Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Which 390 you are comparing with? R3 and 390s are of different territory altogether, you should consider N300/TNT300 while comparing with R3.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostThanks! Hope they launch it with abs else it's better to choose a 390 2017

2017 duke 390. I personally love the r3 & then the ninja 300. But just because the duke 390 esp the new one is a single cylinder doesn't mean its not a good bike. It has become very refined is what I believe. We should also realise that in India we get the duke for a lakh cheaper as well, whereas in most other countries the duke 390 is costlier than the ninja 300 & r3Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostWhich 390 you are comparing with? I never said 2017 duke 390 is bad, I just told you both are of different categories R3 is sports tourer and duke 390 is naked street fighter.Originally posted by prashnagpal View Post2017 duke 390. Regarding price, duke is manufactured locally and R3/N300 are CKD that's why price difference is there.

Yes agree with you on those terms. Yes thats why duke's are worth considering in india. Just waiting for yamaha to launch the r3 with abs. Fingers crossedOriginally posted by Chandan92 View PostI never said 2017 duke 390 is bad, I just told you both are of different categories R3 is sports tourer and duke 390 is naked street fighter.

If you are waiting for the relaunch, then fine. But if you expect with ABS, then better you start looking into the second choice also along side because ABS in 2017 is highly unlikely.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostYes agree with you on those terms. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I know i might sound a bit confusing. I am considering stretching my budget if r3 launches with abs... else i am highly confused between a 2017 duke 390 (mind says so cas of abs & a new bike) vs a one year old R3 done 5000kms at approximately the same price (heart says so - for whatever the reason)Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostIf you are waiting for the relaunch, then fine. Also wondering why my app crashes whenever i try to view a video. All videos same thing happeningOriginally posted by coldfire2005 View PostMedia has reported it will come in June , Ex-Yamaha guy i know said R-3 was BS-IV model which was registered has BS-III , according to his former colleagues still in Yamaha, 2017 might come with ABS as Option since ABS was only introduced this year in many market like USA only in 2017 , Price could go up by 20-25k . Slipper Clutch will not come in 2017 model but will come in revised model planned for 2019 .

Even if R3 is launched with Dual ABS it will be over 4.20 on Road which will be nearly 1.5 lakhs more the Duke390 . R u ready for such a stretch ? if Not ! then Buy Duke390

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
For me its not confusing, because iam also in the same boatOriginally posted by prashnagpal View PostI know i might sound a bit confusing. , but i have considered Duke 250. But iam ok with R3 even if doesn't come with ABS. I like sports bike and R3 has got most of the thing what i was expecting in a faired bike with practical approach, that's why iam willing to go for it, otherwise i wont go beyond KTM 250.
For the used R3, it looks like a good deal if the history of the bike is clean.

Sounds not practical to spend close to 1.50L more just for abs on a new bike.Originally posted by coldfire2005 View PostEven if R3 is launched with Dual ABS it will be over 4.20 on Road which will be nearly 1.5 lakhs more the Duke390 . R u ready for such a stretch ? if Not ! then Buy Duke390

But duke 250 and r3 don't fit in the similar category as well rite? Yes i also totally agree with you as far as compromising on the abs is concerned just because its an r3 at the same price.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostFor me its not confusing, because iam also in the same boat

Not sure of the history as still not checked the bike. Will be doing so if the price is agreed upon.
My opinion (as well as a friend who owns a duke 250 as well as a ktm showroom manager) the duke 250 is not a value for money. Its just a minor update to 200 (apart from looks) so its any day better to save the 30-40k by buying the 200, else spend a 60k more over the 250 & get the 390...... or may be best get the r3 second hand (why is it so easy to advise others & when it comes to own decision - mind vs heart fight) [emoji12][emoji12]Last edited by prashnagpal; 05-29-2017, 02:16 PM.
