Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
What crap... why would they do this? The bike obviously is bs4 by now in other countries. I was looking to buying a second hand one very soon, but if they don't relaunch the r3 then getting proper service & parts will become touch!!! Thoughts?Originally posted by DocOnTwoWheels View PostI had sent a mail to Yamaha India regarding the launch of R3 in mid 2017 but they clearly mentioned in the email that they have no forethought of launching the R3. My hopes are shattered.

As per the mail, the person just said he/she doesn't have updates regarding relaunch as of now. The person didn't clearly say it will not relaunch at all.Originally posted by DocOnTwoWheels View PostI had sent a mail to Yamaha India regarding the launch of R3 in mid 2017 but they clearly mentioned in the email that they have no forethought of launching the R3. I am another prospective buyer like you and I had called up Bangalore wheels about two weeks back to check on the R3. The person attending the call said that the bike will be available in July. I won't buy his words on the relaunch date either but hope it won't be later than July.
Yamaha has never told us upfront about it's plans in the past and they won't tell us now either.
It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

True, before sending this Email I'd already been to Adarsh Yamaha, New Delhi. The manager told me that according to whatever he knew, it was going to relaunch in Mid to End July. That is like just some 50 days ahead. This email reply is pretty vague but not any optimistic either.Originally posted by satish_patil View PostYamaha has never told us upfront about it's plans in the past and they won't tell us now either.
Yamaha R3 owners who are thick with their showroom managers, maybe you can guide the light

R3 will get relaunched but yamaha will never disclose these things until the launch. Regarding parts and service they are and will be available nothing to worry at all.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostWhat crap... why would they do this? Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Even the chennai showroom guys are saying , the time frame is July. But i think it might take Oct/Nov, given that its a CKD and might require more time than the locally made ones.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am too Stuck . No Kawasaki Showroom in Goa to buy Ninja 300 even though Kawa MD said next showroom will come up in Goa last April in 2016 . Kawa are worst and don't reply to emails nor put any clarity so i decided to go for R3 but R3 was pulled out so waiting for Relaunch but late July timeline will force me to pick it up after August since in Goa it pours and cannot risk riding on wet surface such powerful bikes . Benelli and KTM have been ruled out by me , Benelli for high service cost and KTM because of single mill .
I could pick Ninja 300 from Pune and register it in Goa but i have seen current Ninja 300 owners in Goa repairing their bikes at local roadside garages due to Bajaj-Kawa split and few i spoke are worried lot and have told to stay away from Kawa till their is a service center in Goa.

Don't think twice, get DUKE390 or RC390! Don't go for R3 its NOT worth.Originally posted by Kushal_Arora View PostGuys, super confused between 2017 duke 390 and 2017 R3.
Any help in decisionmaking what so ever will be highly appreciated

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I recently rode a Duke 390 back to back just after getting off my R3. I will pick R3 any day because keeping paper specs, 0-60/100, top speed etc, all aside. The kind of feeling that R3 provides of being planted on road is way more than D390. You can feel the premium and it's refinement. And honestly being a careful city rider I don't really see the pro or con to the gizmos Duke provides. They are all just something good to have but nothing really you use if you are a cautious city rider.Originally posted by Kushal_Arora View PostGuys, super confused between 2017 duke 390 and 2017 R3.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My 2 cents.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostI know i might sound a bit confusing. I am considering stretching my budget if r3 launches with abs... else i am highly confused between a 2017 duke 390 (mind says so cas of abs & a new bike) vs a one year old R3 done 5000kms at approximately the same price (heart says so - for whatever the reason)
No-Go for the used one. No matter how well maintained. It can never match the quality and feel of a new one. Plus. No-abs !!!
Abs is a life saver. Specially in bikes of this category. If budget is a constraint, i'd suggest to go for the new duke

I can get u added in the Duke 390 owners group if you want. Folks there are really helpful, even towards the potential owners.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostThats y considering duke 390. But so many complaints with the new one.
They share 1st hand info there. I can give some details right away but dont want to disrupt the R3 thread... :/
