Excluding fuel consumption, can you estimate the service & maintenance cost of R3 per month or per a certain km interval, and price of spare parts like disk pad, chain sprockets, air filter, oil filter etc. Thanks in advance.
Iam also interested in R3 and my requirements are exactly the same as yours. As per my research it comes a little more than R15 for regular service.
Problem for me is i need the bike within two months. so if they didnt relaunch then i dont have any other option but to go for other bikes mostly new duke.

    Regarding spares :

As you can see the spares are comparatively cheaper in its segment.

Same story man, I recently shifted to Bangalore from Kolkata. My bike (3 year old Fazer, but strong condition, 48K) is in Kolkata. Now, if I ride with WB registration plate in Bangalore, chances to get attracted by cops will be higher and the Registration transfer will take time too. So I was insisting to buy R3. R15 is also good & cheap, but it is now old and not suitable for long hours bcz I am not habituated to sporty riding posture. Thank you so much for sharing though.

Any idea whether registered bs3 r3 would be still available with dealers?

You have to check with the dealers. There might be a chance. I saw one black in Trivandrum, kerala showroom, could be a display bike also.

          • Planning to buy used YAMAHA R3, need your suggestions. Please Help!

            Hello Friends,

Its been a long time since I have posted here. I own a 2012 yamaha r15 and now looking for an upgrade. Initially thought of going for 2017 duke 390, however going through the ownership reviews I still feel there are a lot of initial niggles (no offense to anyone please). I am also tired of waiting for bmw g310r. I always had R3 in the back of my mind but it was completely out of budget (close to 4 lacs onroad). Then I thought of why not to go for used one. So I am getting a good deal on the one year 11500km run R3. I still have to personally inspect the bike.

What I need from is a favor, whether my idea of getting a used one is appropriate or is absurd. The price I am getting is 55% of the onroad price of bike.

Please give your valuable feedback. Also request the current R3 owners to help.

            Any help will be appreciated.

            Thanks

seems quite unrealistic.. maybe its accidental.. because 50% depreciation over 1 year is too much.

Considering OTR price 3.8L, after 55% depreciation it would come around 2.10L. Please check all the service records, ideally price should be around 2.5-2.6L.

55% is huge, their is something fishy.

                  1) Do inspect the insurance for insurance declared value (IDV) and if it is less it is surely an accident case .

                  2) Or if it has third party insurance with zero NCB it may be the case of someone brought a total loss bike and repaired to flip.

                  3) or it may be confiscated by financer for non remittance of loan and later sold to make only the money they lost.

In 3rd case you are free to go but beware of 1st & 2nd case.

PS: also it is very rare to find the 3rd case for a bike like r3

I will surely do that. Not been in good health for a while now so haven't been riding and have a huge backlog of videos to edit.

An update from my side. I talked to seller, seems he is in a financial mess that is the reason for sale. I asked him for all the documents on watsap and everything seems fine only that he has not renewed his insurance which expired on feb 2017.

Few things i want to mention are
                      1. bike is on Akrapovic slipon
                      2. he has installed it with midpipe, that means catcon is weld cut and removed
                      3. the bike has tail tidy kit

Now my concern is, I want to keep the bike for atleast 5 years down the line; Will the removal of catcon adversely affect the engine life??

                      Please give your valuable inputs.

If this gets go ahead from you guys then I will inspect the bike and seal the deal.

Thanks you all for your help

Get it assessed by a yamaha service centre and insurance guys.. if everything seems okay then you can go for it.. removal of catcon does impact longetivity but imo 5 years wont be too much of a problem.

Is there any chance that the aftermarket exhaust damaged the engine already and the owner is trying to get rid of it?

Thats what I asked him yesterday, if its ok for him to allow me to get the bike inspected at Yamaha service center and he is ok with it.

Saw your message, it's a clean bike, I know the owner very well and it's loaded with many aftermarket stuffs like puig visor, puig tailtidy, puig frame sliders and akra carbon exhaust.
