If you are from Bangalore....Just visit Biking spirit...Originally posted by spacetech View PostHi,
I see that you have installed the RAM mount on your R3. Could you provide the link from where you got it and let us know how you got it installed on the R3. I believe it requires different set of screws and mounts. If possible a step by step guide of the installation would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Ram being the best in business is priced at < 4200.Same as your Amazon.
Meet Rafa...He would have this done in less than 5 mins..
Otherwise Amazon the default one would help.No extra mounts required.
It just needs space like small Key loop.
Have a nice weekend!!

But I have observed if in air.Abs Jerks..
Somehow feel old school drums are more predictive but the kinda speed yiu need this definitely..
Simply said.more chip controlled braking. For the better

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Question to experienced,
I have done my 1st service..replaced oil with motul..
Somehow feel the bike has lost the before aggression.
Is it just me or anyone else have experienced the same.
Felt...the breakin period bike performed great and now somehow yells but doesn't move quickly..as before.
If anyone has felt the same please enlighten me..!
Thank you

Probably it needs some time to settle and then it will become sweeter. Experience with my bikes on Motul.Originally posted by venkyonegative View PostQuestion to experienced,

My question is what is the reason if someone says ABS increases brake distance.Originally posted by venkyonegative View Postit helps..More stable breaking...No jarring of wheels.

Now about your point, ABS jerks in Air, obviously it will, their is no friction, the friction of air with tyre is very less than that of tyre and tarmac. And dont you think, ABS was designed for better safety and not just depend on drum brakes which not only increases the brake distance but makes the tyre skidFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Prateek, when you slam on the brakes on a bike with ABS the sensors do not allow the wheel to lock, so when it the senses wheel locking it releases the brake pressure, then applies it again and so on. Due to this application and release the braking distance increases.
All this happens in the blink of an eye, you will just feel a mild pulsing of the brake lever when ABS is working.
In my opinion it's a life saver and one should not be buying a bike without this feature.
You may need it in one time out of ten, but that one time will save you from crashing.
Ride safe
Cheers

Bro, I know how ABS works, please guide me towards any survey/ article which has real time proof that it increases the braking distance. Because AFAIK all the articles and videos that are on internet tell a different story.Originally posted by cyborgk View PostPrateek, when you slam on the brakes on a bike with ABS the sensors do not allow the wheel to lock, so when it the senses wheel locking it releases the brake pressure, then applies it again and so on. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
There is a video by MCN where they check breaking distance on bikes with and without ABS. check link. In capable hands it wont make much of a difference in dry conditions. Wet conditions is where ABS will definitely improve breaking and reduces the breaking distance effectively. check the link.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostBro, I know how ABS works, please guide me towards any survey/ article which has real time proof that it increases the braking distance. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
There is no way I was contesting that ABS is not good. Relying on it too much without actually knowing the speed limits or capabilities of the bike is dangerous. Electronics systems can go haywire.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostBro, I know how ABS works, please guide me towards any survey/ article which has real time proof that it increases the braking distance. I love R3, I really do. If I was rich enough to own and afford one, I'd have gone for it already. I have it baby brother R15 and that has given me more learning than any other bike I owned(Duke 200, Pulsars 150 and 220).
ABS is an absolutely good thing to do, just that the responsibility of the rider should increase with this addition.
Thanks bhai for the link. I couldn't get time to reply on the post. I do read and follow the good world, other world reviews because they stick to the point and give better insights.Originally posted by somenath1061 View PostThere is a video by MCN where they check breaking distance on bikes with and without ABS. check link. The benefit of having ABS is it provides the rider/driver an option to steer away without locking the wheels.
The other part that I'm not a fan of ABS is - if the sensor fails and the rider has to apply the brakes, his/her mind will always tell him/her that there is ABS so he/she will be a little more casual than usual in his/her braking approach.
Relying too much on electronics is not healthy. Mechanical parts do fail, adding electronics governance on them adds to the odds.
Plus without ABS, a rider gets to sharpen his/her skills of braking. The rider learns a lot more about the bike.
I'm old school that way and a really lazy rider although I own a P220 and R15 both. I rarely go above legal city road speeds. [emoji23]Regards,

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have seen the MCN video, I was just questioning how in dry/wet state ABS will increase the braking distance, this is what someone mentioned in previous pages, that ABS increases brake distance.
Anyways I ride an ABS bike so real life scenario I see the braking distance on a daily basis (I upgraded from non ABS bike).
Lets chuck it, and get back to R3 discussionFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world
